In general, cargo operations at MIA fall under 4 areas: 1) Western and Eastern "U's". This is where most planes unload including LAN Cargo, Tampa, and Atlas. 2) Cargo City. It appears to me this is mainly DHL and other smaller carriers (seems predominately 727's there). 3) NW Cargo: Fedex ...

To which ARFF are you referring? If you're talking the midfiled one between taxiways Papa and November, I can tell you it's still there as of Saturday afternoon.

'Splainin' ta do!

Looks like a SWA 737 skidded off the runway tonight at MDW in heavy snow. From the reports of it ending up at 55th & Central, I guess that would indicate it was landing on 31C. Looks like no one on the plane was hurt but the car at the intersection didn't do too well. Martin, do you have data on...

Can't speak for IVAO, but on VATSIM with Squawkbox 3, each user has a small file to depict everyone else's planes while you're online. You select your plane (including livery and paint scheme) when you log on and that tells the other pilots which file their computer will use to show your location. I...

Rwy 9

Martin,

Might want to wait a few weeks. I recently heard they would be resurfacing Rwy 9 (with a new paintjob, obviously).

I'll check and get back to you.

ILS Rwy 30

I did a quick search but if this has been posted, I apologize. ILS for Rwy 30 was implemented in October, '04, obviously after the 1.5 update was posted. Realizing the default MSFS doesn't have ILS for this runway, will it be possible in the future to add this? Thx. Oh, and any chance you'll be fini...

Honestly, it's been ~8-10 months since I've flown into Midway, but unfortunately, that's the deal in real life. GA might use the other runways but Jet/IFR traffic is almost always 13/31C (or occasionally 4R/22L). Yes, it can take some time to get moving. Part of this in real life is just the traffic...

If they have an ILS than I SHOULD be able to use "ap" (approach) function. Is it that you don't engage? Or is it that it flies you into the ground? How long do you maintain the glideslope? I ask because: What happens when its a really bad snow storm and visibility warrants a Cat II or III...

Oh noooo! Martin, please tell me that you included the White Castle fast food restaurant at the NE corner of Cicero and 55th! It just won't be the same landing at Midway w/o staring down at the customers looking up at you from the windows while downing those deliciously grease-filled, tiny h...
