Midway Screenshots and Info

Post by martin[flytampa] » Wed Jun 15, 2005 4:59 am

1. When?
Fly-Midway will be released soon, next week the latest I hope.

2. How is the fps performance?
The scenery itself has a minimal impact on fps just like SFO. Keep in mind however that the AI traffic of the world's second busiest airport will be flying over your head when you are at Midway.

3. What does that mean?
It means that performance at Midway will depend mainly on your FS setup. If you use realistic AI schedules there is a lot of traffic in the air and on the ground at nearby KORD. If you want to check if your system is "fit" for Fly-Midway just load up default KMDW and fly around a bit over Chicago.

6. What will the next scenery release be?
Fly-Seattle will be our next release.

Oh man! Now I'm gonna have a harder choice when I buy one of your sceneries soon!

I really like the idea of modeling the buildings outside the airport fence - just like FlightZone 01.

Yes! Although my guess of KHOU was wrong, I am very happy. My VA does fly here so it will be awesome to have another Fly Tampa scenery to use.

Hi Martin

It looks absolutely brilliant, the wait was worth it. Gotta go find my visa.

Thank God Midway is on its way!! The only sad part is that ATA has little and little presence anymore due to its codeshare agreement with Southwest airlines. Regardless, this airport will be greatly appreciated by everyone in the fs community.

WOW. Nice job once again Martin. Time to put PMDG's SWA 737 in for a check as I will using it alot with this scenery. Love the new type of ground textures you seem to have with the grass along the taxiway edge and the snow textures. I have anothe compaines ORD installed but I have a feeling that is not going to get much use for a long time. My Chicago flights will all be destined for MDW now. Great work!

Oh noooo! Martin, please tell me that you included the White Castle fast food restaurant at the NE corner of Cicero and 55th! It just won't be the same landing at Midway w/o staring down at the customers looking up at you from the windows while downing those deliciously grease-filled, tiny hamburgers. :-(

As always, super work Martin! :D
