Cant land on helipads

Edit* OMG I have fallen in love with a helipad! ....don't suppose you could model the connecting ladder from the pad to the building ....and windsock could you Martin?



If any FS9'ers would like to try my file to make the Burj Al Arab helipad landable.

The attached zip includes an Afcad for the Burg Al Arab and an editvoicepak file so FS ATC can say Burj Al Arab.

If you are a skilled chopper pilot let's see your Burj Al Arab landing vidz!

Hi Ed,
Thank you for your terrific efforts to add little extras to Dubai. Although I rarely fly helicopters, I tried your AFCAD fof the Burj Dubai, but it does not seem to work for me. My helicopter drops through the helipad and sits about 1.5 metres below it.
Could it be something to do with add-on mesh? Or maybe just my lousy piloting skills?

I put the file in the Addon Scenery-Scenery folder as noted in the readme.

Hello Graeme, If you are using an addon mesh that may well be the case....I vaguely remember that one should add a flatten underneath the floating helipad to take into account different setups but I have not done that.

I will look into it tonight, but as I say, I rarely fly helicopters so it does not matter a great deal to me.

What might be a quick fix for you would be to open the afcad with afcad and add 1.5 meters (in feet) to the airport height (properties) and Runway height (properties).

Well for those that want to bring down their frame rates somewhat...

Ed has started something here.
Dubai is certainly helo territory, so I thought I'd add a few myself and see.
I didn't realise that Flight1's AI helos would accept helipads plopped down using AFX or similar.
But there they were.



I am now having a helipad binge, and will upload them for your enjoyment or frustration depending on your computer, when they are tidied up.
