Dear Martin,
As you thought that the problems must lie in the AI files, I removed the MyTraffic files.
The problem is gone. But you cannot tell me that I am the only one with that problem. But anyway I know now where the problem lies.
But in Fs9 I do not have that problem with MyTraffic!
Would the problem be gone too if I put MyTraffic on a lower place in the scenery file than Hong Kong?
regards/Alfred

You don't have to remove all the MyTraffic files, only the AFX Airport file for VHHX provided by MyTraffic. The solution of setting MyTraffic lower in the scenery Library should also work without removing the respective files.
This doesn't disable anything from MyTraffic, its just that AI Addons like MyTraffic , Ultimate Traffic etc assume that you don't have Addon Airports and therefore provide their own AFX files (Afcad in FS9).

Runway Lights at Kia Tak
Hi Martin, I have exactly the same problem when landing at night there are no or very dim runway lights, FSX Trafficx which I might add track the 13 approach perfectly. Non SDK installation Nvidia 9800 Graphics Card.

Re: runway lights on kai tak fsx
Hi Martin, I have tried to send a screenshot but I only have the unregistered version of fraps and, I have never done this before.
It only takes BMP images and they obviously don't work, I will have to get registered then I will send a shot.

Re: runway lights on kai tak fsx
Thanks for that information Martin, you learn something everday,
so, hopefully you will now have two screeshots. Having watched some video footage from Kiatak in reality the runway border lighting was as bright as the lead in lights, I don't know if it's possible to make these brighter but, no doubt you do.

PS absolutly fantastic scenery, so real, you can really get the atmosphere of the place.

Re: runway lights on kai tak fsx
Are you using any type of tweaked default lighting like provided by REX?
What happens is there are Addons which let you select various light halos and replace the default FSX texture. At the same time a scenery like VHHX dims whatever lighting there is a certain % amount because of the semi-transparent ground polys and the fact that FSX lights are rendered "under" the ground image.
FSX default lighting is quite strong, the attached screenshots shows how it looks. If the default halo textures have been replaced by smaller or dimmer ones, it does have the effect of becoming even dimmer at VHHX. In other words, VHHX will dim any runway lighting by say 30%. Not sure about that figure, what I mean its always the same amount so when starting out with a faint light it can become too faint.
Shot taken at midnight.
