SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
Hi Emilios,
I just tried installing V2.2 and noticed the SODE VDGS is missing.
The FlyTampa Libraries are active and SODE VDGS is installed.
When I go in the configuration manager and ticks SODE VDGS, start P3D and load EKCH the VDGS is missing. When I then go back into the configuration manager after exiting P3D the tick is off on both SODE VDGS and FT VDGS.
Hope you can help.
Best regards
Peter Lund

Re: SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
Hi Peter,
There might be a file confict on your SODE folder.
For active SODE VDGS you need the following files named as shown
P3D\FlyTampa\Copenhagen\scenery\ekch_vdgs_ft.off
C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml\FlyTampa_EKCH_VDGS.xml
This should re-active the option on the configurator and make SODE VDGS visible

Hi Emilios
P3D\FlyTampa\Copenhagen\scenery\ekch_vdgs_ft.off is shown as off
C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml\FlyTampa_EKCH_VDGS.xml was shown as off, but is changed to .xml along with Windsocks which I also had ticked as SODE.
I just checked in P3D and the VDGS is now shown.
Thank you for the help.

Re: SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
Same issue here with a clean install of v2.2 and indeed changing .off to .xml works.

Re: SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
Same here and just to let the developers know that even after changing the .off to .xml in the SODE folder, the FT configurator still does not recognize the commands to change VGDS and windsocks between standard and SODE.
I noticed that the relevant files are being changed from bgl to off in the FT folder but there is NO effect on the VGDS and Windsocks files in the SODE folder (they can only be renamed manually and are not controlled by the FT configurator even when in sync with the FT scenery folder files).
As far as I remember everything was working on the previous version of EKCH so must be something in the latest update, or latest SODE 1.7.0
Kind regards,
Vladimir

Re: SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
All this seems related to an invalid configuration file, config_FT_EKCH.xml in \FlyTampa\scripts folder.
Here what I found out in mine.
The _v4 at the end of each xml/off entry does not make any sense, simply correct those entries removing the _v4 to have the FT configurator working.
The same applies to the Animated Windsocks, even in that section (at the top of the mentioned xml file) there were reduntant _v4 strings appended.

Re: SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
Hi guys :)
I have the same problem and have checked both files as sugested.
But in my case it did't make a difference. It all seems to be as Emilios said.
Any clever ideas to what i am doing wrong here ?
Have a nice weekend ;)

Re: SODE VDGS missing in V2.2
The attached script file goes into :Prepar3D v5\FlyTampa\scripts (and replace)
This should fix things, but if you previously switched anything around in P3Dv4 you might have duplicate files that confuse the tool.
So, first replace the script with the one attached. Then you will have to reset all files manually to their default state (by renaming the extensions), which i list below. Thereafter, you should have no issues with the tool.
I know its tedious but unfortunately SODE folder is shared across all P3D versions.
P3D\FlyTampa\Copenhagen\scenery
ekch_windsocks.bgl
ekch_vdgs_ft.bgl
ekch_vdgs_ft.off
ekch_jets_static_X.bgl
ekch_jet_black.bgl
ekch_jets_static_SODE.off
C:\programdata\12bPilot\SODE\xml\ <-- if you have duplicate files here, just delete those with an *.xml extension and only keep the *. off files like listed below
FlyTampa_EKCH.off
FlyTampa_EKCH_VDGS.off
FlyTampa_EKCH_windsocks.off

Hi Emilios
Thx for the quick reply.
I will give it a try :)
But just for info i have never had V4 installed on my pc, only V5 and CPHV2. I Don’t know if that makes any difference?
Anyway i will try 👍🏻
