It refers to Orbx Southern California.

Have you installed Orbx SCA?

No I haven't got Orbx SCA installed but I do have Orbx's San Diego airport installed. We are talking at cross purposes and it may be worth while reading again my first post on this matter.

You asked me to post a screenshot of my Scenery\World\scenery folder which I have done. As you havn't commented on it, am I correct in assuming that you can't find anything wrong with it?

My concern is that I can't find any FlyTampa BGL files on my computer and am wondering where they are.

It's you that repeatedly asked me to name a BGL file even though I have repeatedly said I can't find any FlyTampa BGL files. I have also pointed out that I have v1.1 of KLAS installed which apparently contains the elevation fix. I also have FlyTampa KBOS rebooted installed and again I can't find any KBOS BGL files. My other concern is that neither KBOS or KLAS appear in the uninstall panel accessed via the control panel.

I appreciate you trying to help and welcome any further help that you can offer but to save us both a lot of time and effort I would appreciate someone from FlyTampa also getting involved. If they don't comment on this thread soon, I will open a new thread hoping that they will see that.

Thanks again

When I looked at your screenshot it told me you did not have Orbx (region / large area) Southern California installed. So I asked you to confirm.
That is what the first post (you directed me to) is about in this topic.

I had asked you for the exact name of the file you were looking for (but never got it) to verify there were no typos in the name and then I would search the same name on my setup.

Do you know the default path that all your FlyTampa airports are supposed to be installed into (which will also contain the FlyTampa pdf doc which has install information.)?

Maybe search your hard drive(s) for the FlyTampa-Vegas.pdf (doc/location).

Edit:
"neither KBOS or KLAS appear in the uninstall panel accessed via the control panel."

That is correct.
The pdf doc will tell you how to uninstall the product.

Also look here for basic install / uninstall info:
http://www.flytampa.org/support.html

Edit 2 :
Start P3D
Go to top menu
World
Scenery library
Do you see Fly Tampa airports listed?
If so, do you see a path to the installed files on your PC?

Hi again

Once again thanks.

I search by clicking on my C: drive and following the correct path. I could find no mention of Lockheed Martin and posted in the P3D forum to find out if the person who built my computer had installed P3Dv4.5 incorrectly. After a similiar exchange as here; I think it was you who said it was not a problem.

I posted here as I wanted to find the correct path to find FlyTampa files. I clearly stated the paths I had used yet you still asked me what paths I had tried. I mentioned that at the end of the path shown in the attached screenshot there were BGL files but no FlyTampa BGL files. You then asked me the name of the BGL file I was looking for. I explained that I wasn't looking for a particular BGL file, yet you still asked again the name of the file. I repeated that I hadn't searched for a particular file. In the end I mentioned the first file as that was one of the files I thought may be in the file shown on the screenshot. I also said on a couple of occasions that I had installed V1.1 which included the alterations to the BGL files. That being the case I hadn't tried to find the files. I then said that my concern was that V1.1 had not fixed the problem and out of interest I wanted to discover where the BGL files were and why I couldn't find FlyTampa airports in the uninstall window.

So I thank you for explaining in your last post that FlyTampa airports don't appear in the uninstall window and that I should find information that I need in the manuals. As it's late in the UK, I will follow your advice tomorrow when I have more time. Once I have done that I will start a new topic to find out what I should do to fix the still present elevation issue which in my case hasn't been solved by V1.1

I started with your problem on the P3D forum here:
http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 4&t=134209

You said:
"Following advice on the FlyTampa forum where they recommend renaming a BGL file to overcome an elevation problem at their Las Vegas airport."

I initially thought this may have been an answer to your post on the FlyTampa forum. But later I discovered it was not.

But anyway, in the last post on your P3D forum topic I asked and mentioned:
What is the BGL file name you are looking for?
I will have a quick look on my setup.

I received no answer.

Later I found your post in the FlyTampa forum in a section dealing with Orbx Southern California and KLAS (nothing, BTW, to do with your Orbx KSAN install).
So I ended up asking the same questions again in the FlyTampa forum to find out what was going on.
That happens when you have two different forums dealing with a problem.

You might also want to post screenshots of your KLAS elevation problem.

Edit:
What did you check on your setup to verify that your KLAS v1.1 Update actually downloaded and installed onto your PC?
E.g., one of the fixes was:
Added sequenced flashers for MALS-F on 01L and 26L

Let me know in this topic what you learned from my last post on what you should do and check on next.
Chances are my last post here may have answered all your questions.

And, if you start a new topic in the FlyTampa forum it would be good to give links to all previous posts here and at the P3D forum.

Hi
I solved the elevation problem by opening the Orbx FTX Global Vector configuration tool and clicking on the Airport Elevation Corrections tab and manually moving KLAS from the AEC IS ENABLED FOR: list to AEC IS DISABLED FOR: list

I think it's possible that when you rerun Auto-Configuration that KLAS will be moved back to the enabled list. I will continue to move KLAS manually rather than digging deeper into the Orbx file structure to turn off the KLAS files mentioned in the AVSIM forum thread found by typing KLAS into their search box.

Running P3D v4.5, just bought/installed Las Vegas and was having a very pleasant time, until landing when elevation issues showed! (bottom fell out of 19R)

In terms of Orbx I have:
Global BASE
NA SoCal region
KSAN airport
I don't have Vector installed

Referring to the tips in this thread
...Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\World\scenery, ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_elevation_adjustment.BGL.OFF. I don't have that file so can't rename it.

Also the files mentioned within ...Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_SCA05_SCENERY
I don't have the FTX_NA_SCA05_SCENERY folder

I've tried reading through the thread but the scenario I have may not be the same, so if someone could advise the steps I need to carry out to resolve the issue I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT - sorted, I think. I can see this thread started some time ago, and suspect in the meantime, Orbx install processes have shifted a little.
In my case the Orbx content sits in a bunch of package named folders like... driveletter :\Orbx Library\p3dv4\NA Southern California\Scenery\World\scenery
and in there was ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_elevation_adjustment.BGL, which I renamed and looks like job done.

Just completed first landing (without elevation issues) and it looked brilliant!

I've added KLAS to P3Dv5. It looks great. My new installation has all of my Orbx products in their own library. The information in the 1st two posts still works to correct the elevation issues, but the path information is not accurate for library installations.

For the sake of keeping things tidy, here are where the files land if you install your Orbx products in a library installation:

ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_elevation_adjustment.BGL is located in:
.\Orbx Library\p3dv5\NA Southern California\Scenery\World\scenery\

ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS.bgl, ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_CVX.bgl, and FTX_SCA_objects_KLAS_PLC.bgl are located in:
.\Orbx Library\p3dv5\NA Southern California\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_SCA05_SCENERY\scenery\

Just some further help for anyone struggling with this issue...
When I first installed Vegas in P3Dv5 it was perfect. After updating OrbxCentral I had all the described elevation issues also with floating buildings and terrain popping in and out as I flew over it. I disabled all the .bgl files as previously stated but that didn't seem to have any affect. What seemed to solve the issue for me was a tool called Lorbys SI P3D Addon Organizer. Once I used this tool to move FlyTampa LasVegas to the top priority EVERYTHING seems to be back to perfect. I really am impressed with this Vegas scenery … the level of detail is just astounding. This is the first flyTampa scenery I've purchased but won't be my last!..

I have this problem too.
I have disabled ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS.bgl, ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_CVX.bgl, and FTX_SCA_objects_KLAS_PLC.bgl
But never in the life of me can i find ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_elevation_adjustment.BGL
Not in P3d V5 anyways.
All ORBX stuff is located in a library outside of the main P3d folder and i run ORBX NA South California and offcourse the Global Base but not Vector since its not needed in V5.
So P3d V5 is the only sim im using atm.

Kind regards Mattias.

Hi Matthias,

terrible to read, that there has been no support on this issue for such a long time. I was having the same problem and could not use KLAS even it looks great.

Update: I got it to work after deleting 3 files and most important - bring Flytampa libraries and Flytampa KLAS to the top of your P3D scenery, go into ORBX Central settings and set under "Orbx Airports and Regions - Inserted below" the following entry: FlyTampa - Las Vegas. Then restart the PC. Maybe uninstalling ORBX vector did also help, but I am not sure about that one.
Files to be deleted:

(had a hard time finding these files in the first place, therefore I post it here, where P3Dv5 places them if you use a library)
E:\Orbx Library\p3dv5\NA Southern California\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_SCA05_SCENERY\scenery

ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS.bgl
ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_CVX.bgl
FTX_SCA_objects_KLAS_PLC.bgl

Hi Emilios,

May I gain your insight into something please that I noticed last night after flying into this fantastic scenery. I first thought this issue was a PMDG issue but I don't believe this is, rather I do think I have an elevation issue at KLAS. I have deleted the following files but still am finding issues:

- ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS_CVX
- ADE_FTX_SCA_KLAS
- FTX_SCA_objects_KLAS_PLC

As can be seen from the screenshots below. The TDZ elevation for 26L is 2069 ft. The minimums for the ILS approach is 2269', 200ft above the threshold. I noticed after flying the approach that my usual EGPWS RAD Alt Calls were missing, apart from the '10' call which caught me by surprise. I can't figure out what is wrong here..

As can be seen in the first image, rad alt is showing 200 and therefore this is roughly where I should hear the minimums call. I appreciate it's set on BARO and therefore does not use RAD ALT
Image

The second image here shows me shortly after landing, clearly showing the Airport/Threshold elevation being slightly out and the BARO set to 2270.

Please tell me my eyes aren't playing tricks on me...
