Elevation issue/vehicle crash?

Post by pclark » Sun Feb 25, 2018 9:51 am

Hi,

I seem to have an elevation issue. Running P3D 4.2, Orbx global vector, NA landclass and FlyTampa Boston, I can't load a new flight from or land at Boston with 'detect crashes' enabled. I think it's elevation related because I get the below screenshot when landing.

I renamed the only other KBOS BGL I could find (<p3d>\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT\scenery\APB_KBOS.bgl and it doesn't seem to help.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

No manual manipulation of the FlyTampa install or anything, just ran the installer.

Thanks in advance,

I don't have a real answer (sorry), but generally speaking for all scenery add-ons, you should have collision detection disabled. This has been the rule of thumb for many years now.

Hello,

I am having the same issue as pclark. Can't load any flights with crash detection enabled at Boston. On a side note I do not use Vector, just FTX global and FTX Global OpenLC NA. I do not have Aerosoft US cities X Boston. Please let me know if you need more information regarding this.

you are talking about collision detection, we are referring to crash detection. I do not have to disable crash detection on any of the FlyTampa sceneries I have.

Thanks in Advance.

Hello

Same here.
Currently on P3Dv4.1 with full ORBX stack.

Maybe I'm late to the party here but is disabling collision detection really a rule of thumb? I've never had to do it before with hundreds of scenery add ons. Yes it seems to fix this issue with KBOS but there must be some other work around?
