christb wrote:[attachment=0]F]T KBOS.PNG[/attachment I wonder if the crash on startup is related to an elevation issue, I turned off damage to aircraft and that seemed to work around the problem.
While flying around the airport I did notice some possible texture anomalies, I'll attach a snapshot
Your ground textures are completely absent. Did you add it to the scenery library the old way through the scenery library?

Check you have textures in Flytampa\scripts\textures

I'm attaching a snap shot of some of the textures.
A lot of them look just black.

Load this file in Notepad: FlyTampa/Boston/add-on.xml

See if the content matches below:

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
    <AddOn.Name>FlyTampa-Boston</AddOn.Name>
    <AddOn.Description>Boston Logan International Airport for Prepar3D 4
    </AddOn.Description>
    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Scripts</Category>
        <Path>scripts</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>
    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Effects</Category>
        <Path>effects</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>
    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Scenery</Category>
        <Path>scenery</Path>
        <Name>FlyTampa-Boston</Name>
    </AddOn.Component>
    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Texture</Category>
        <Path>texture</Path>
        <Type>WORLD</Type>
    </AddOn.Component>
    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Texture</Category>
        <Path>scripts\texture</Path>
        <Type>GLOBAL</Type>
    </AddOn.Component>
</SimBase.Document>
Next, in P3D, go to the World Menu and select Scenery Library. See if FlyTampa-Boston is listed on top and greyed out. If it is not greyed out but a normal entry, let us know.

The black textures are for night so it all looks okay in there.

Yea them files didn't help either. Think this may have to go a miss as a refund which I'm sad about but I can then use the money for Vegas :)

EDIT: Seems the problems on my end. Off to do a full P3Dv4.2 reinstall

not sure if this is the same problem others are describing here...as soon as I load a flight at KBOS, I get an instant vehicle crash and reboot to default scenario.

If I turn off vehicle crash detection it loads and starts fine.

Prepar3D V4.2, only other scenery if all the Orbx stuff and FSglobal ultimae mesh.
I've run the Orbx vector scenery adjustment program and saved. I can't seem to find any other elevation file that may be contributing.

Any thoughts where to begin or turn next?

Thanks, Jason

Something from your Library shots that sticks out to me... In the Regular Scenery Library shot you have "FlyTampa Boston KBOS" which points to "E:\P3D airports\FlyTampa\Boston\". In your Addons screenshot you have an entry "Boston" pointing to "C:\users\chris\documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Boston\".

I assume you moved your FT-Boston to E: and added the XML/CFG manually so I'm wondering whats in "C:\users\chris\documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Boston\". Can you first look with explorer to see what files are there, if that is a duplicate of FT-Boston or something else.

I have the same problem with KBOS in p3d v4.1 but I think it should be p3d fault,I had the same problem with another scenery from JustSim but they solved the problem I hope the same with Flytampa

Alright fixed my original issue. It did do one of those restarts - the same what everyone else is having. I disabled aircraft crashes and it now works :)
