LOWW P3dv4 crashing at night

Post by Olympic260 » Fri Jun 09, 2017 6:24 am

I did follow the installation instructions for LOWW in P3dv4 and installed latest patch. However as soon as I select LOWW at night P3D crashes. If I select day it works ok. Selecting night crashes again.

Deactivate "3D Grass" in the Config Tool and it won't crash.

I just again newly installed FlyTampa Vienna in P3D v4 using the folder ...\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4. Additionally I then run the patch and afterwards deleted the ....papi.bgl files. So everything should be OK but instead I also had the problem during night. But I cannot find the configuration tool in the folder ...\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Fly Tampa or its subfolder \Vienna after installation. So I downloaded the configurator from your website and installed it in ...\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Fly Tampa. But starting the configurator nothing changed e.g. it did not open....... The solution for me finally was to manually change / set all loww_grasses01-11.bgl in ..\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Fly Tampa\Vienna\scenery to ..... .off. After a long loading time finally P3D v4 started at night.

Could the reason be that I installed P3D v4 in Program Files (the 64-bit folder) and the Configurator is a 32-bit program or that there is something wrong in the config_FT_LOWW.xml file?

Hanse

Deactivating 3D Grass solved the crashes at night.
I don't have safe gate at v4 although it is active in configurator. Is there solution?

I installed everything correctly and deactivated 3D Grass... it still crashes at night! What could be the problem?

Did you check that the grass files are actually renamed in flytampa/vienna/scenery/
loww_grasses01.bgl to 11.bgl

Those should be labeled .off. Make sure you don't have both .off and .bgl files.

Same as Syjack. I`ve deactivated 3D Grass in config tool and renamend every eleven Files from .bgl to off.
P3Dv4 crashed at night.
:x

Edit: After complete deinstallation of Fly Tampa and new installation of Fly Tampa Vienna it`s wok verry fine in P3Dv4.

I coincidentally just have made an interesting finding regarding those LOWW crashes at night...

If I leave those 4 *_papi.bgl files contrary to the update instrucions after copying that P3Dv4 compatibility files I can leave the grass activated and don´t get any crash anymore. Surprisingly the papi lights also work like they should.

I´ve tested that several times now... If I remove/rename those papi files P3D crashes, if I leave them were they are everything seems to work as it should.

I hope that somehow might help to get a general fix for this issue...

Thats odd, the old PAPIs shouldn't work quite properly, they change from white to red all at once instead of one at a time, but with the update + old papis, what you see is both the ADE papis and the custom ones that don't quite work...

A new version of LOWW is almost ready, most of these issues will be resolved because it no longer uses any legacy BGLs, its going to be a v4 only release.

May I ask how this is coming along? I, too, suffer from the CTD problem, even after following all instructions. Which is a pity, since LOWW is my homebase.

We are testing a new LOWW beta, if you are interested in trying it, email us with "LOWW beta" and your name (name you used when ordering LOWW)
