Elevation problems and OOM's

Post by DeeJay » Mon Dec 19, 2016 6:51 am

Hey!

Just installed EHAM a few hours ago and tried my first flight which ended in a nightmare: Came in from EGSS, FSP reported a broken gear, and apart from that I sank even more into the ground because of some strange elevation problems:

Image

I have no other scenery of EHAM installed, and apart from that EHAM is not shown at all at ORBX's AEC in their FTX Vector menu. So there shouldn't be any elevation problems, right?

After I failed to recover my airbus after switching off FSP I tried it in slew mode, when I finally got an OOM!!

OK, I'm gonna try the lite textures pack. But I already have set the maximum texture resolution to 512x512, have very few autogen scenery and AI traffic below 50%, set the the range of details set to low and the maximum visibility in ASN set to 50 nm!! And I still get OOM's almost every time, no matter where I go... Is there something completely wrong with my settings? It's P3D v3.2! Not FSX!

What can I do? ...especially about the elevation problem?

Check the scenery library for an entry called FlyTampa-Amsterdam_LC.
If it's not there you can add it manually.

Thanks a lot. It works now. Didn't think the fix would be so easy :)

In case you are still having OOM problems i can try to help you.

Deejay, what addons are you using?
Try to lower your AI Traffic, because i use My traffic 6 and i use 12% and i still have plenty of traffic.
Can you upload sceenshots of your settings?

Could you post a shot please?
if _LC is already in, then your elevation issue might be of different nature.

Yes, here they are for the scenery section:

Image

I've set AI airline traffic to 30% and GA to 25%, road traffic to 10% and all ship traffic off.

Maximum texture resolution is set to 512x512 meanwhile. And so are all texture resolutions in Active Sky Next

In this area I've installed ORBX OpenLC Europe and FlyTampa Amsterdam. Nothing else but ASN and REX textures in low resolution as mentioned. And I still get OOM's all the time, mostly even before I get off the ground on a fresh loaded EHAM scenery without having changed the aircraft. Sometimes it even happens in a GA plane.

Same problem here. Fresh install on P3D v3. The folder is installed. Very odd overlays.

See your tesselation factor is set on low Why?

this lets do your graphic card where it is made for,
and reduce workload from your CPU , partly to your videocard.

This is unplayable. The Amsterdam_LC folder is there and activated in the scenery library.

Is it under 'FlyTampa-Amsterdam' entry, and are both on the top of your scenery library?

Got it.... I had to add it manually in the library now... It's working now, thanks. Odd though, this was a fresh P3D install.
