Crashes at 83% loading with Aerosoft Airbuses

Post by richie894 » Sun Dec 18, 2016 10:59 pm

Can not get it to load with Aerosoft Airbuses. It always crashes P3D at 83% loading (loading air traffic control). I tried it with the default F-22, PMDG 777 and the Majestic Dash 8 and it seems to work fine and load.

Although I do have some elevation issues. Around the gate area there are drops down. I have EHAM at #1 priority with all my other stuff (i.e. ORBX) below it in the scenery library. I can not post a pic as it says I am a new member.

OK, the elevation issues are fixed. The installer did not add the LC folder. But now I am getting the crashes at the same 83% loading point with the other aircraft too. So it is not just Aerosoft.

Richie did you try installing the litetex? I also have a lot of addons on P3D, and i managed to take off from amsterdam using the litetex ( they are low res textures but they dont look low res dont worry xD).
I am still trying to change my settings in order to be able to run the airport perfectly without any VAS problems, try lowering your settings like autogen and building bars.

I may be mistaken but isn't 83% somewhere around where either autogen or AI is loaded?

Have you made sure the autogen entries are in your default.xml?
Please see this post to check:

If not it may be an issue with a bad AI texture, try turning traffic off and see if that helps. Almost certain it will be one of these two issues

I have AI set to zero. I even dialed back the graphics settings in P3D and tried the LITE textures, still same issue - P3D crash at 83% each time.

I checked the autogen entries and they are all there. I uninstalled and reinstalled the scenery completely from my hard drive. Still same issue. Really weird as all of my other sceneries, including FlyTampa work fine. Must be some file within the installation which is causing a conflict.

Going back to what you wrote originally.... Have you tried disabling/removing the Amsterdam_LC entry to see if it loads without crashing now?

Yes it loads without the LC checked. Then crashes again once I check the LC.

EDIT - I just completely removed the scenery and files and re-downloaded and installed again. Still same issue. I did notice however that I got an error at the end of the installer saying - "Prepar3D cannot run because it could not write Prepar3d.cfg". I then close out of the installer box and then have manually have to add the folders to my scenery library. Not sure if this is related to my 83% loading issue at all. Just wanted to document everything.

To confirm I was running the installer in admin mode and have all anti-virus turned off during the process.

I have the same problem.
If Amsterdam_LC is unchecked the scenery loads to 100%.
If I check Amsterdam_LC it crashes at 83%.

Did you figure out a solution yet Giuseppe? I have tried everything including disabling other scenery with no luck. Frustrating as I am seeing people on streams fly in/out and it looks great.

I would try removing files from the LC folder, one at a time, until it eventually loads. Once you have a name for the 'guilty' file, we can have a look at it :)

I found the offending file. I have a x_scenery.bgl and a x_scenery2.bgl. When I remove x_scenery.bgl it loads!

Those two contain some exclusions around the scenery, can't understand why they crash your sim, but if you don't see any weird default stuff that catch you eye, you should be good to go for now.

I ll have a look at what's excluded from those files and see if I can replace them

False alarm. It loaded without the above file as I said in the previous post, then I tried it again and it crashed. I went through every file and crash every time - even when the folder was empty with no files. I then tried it again with the LC file unchecked and it crashed. So I have no idea what is going on. It is always at the same 83% loading point (loading air traffic control). I have never had issues like this before and my other FlyTampa sceneries all work fine.

I have an i7 and 1070 graphics card, so it should be enough plus my Chaseplane VAS indicator is showing available VAS of around 0.9 when it crashes. My AI is set to 0 still.

A quick&dirty solution would be to move all files within LC folder into the main 'amsterdam\scenery\' folder. De-activate _LC folder from scenery library and try again. Not sure if this will cause major artefacts yet, but we can deal with them if sim loads at least.
