Lol. Yeah I was too. I didn't know how George or Martin would take it, so I just re-wrote it...if I would get the boot or not, lol. It's very difficult arguin' with stupid people.

Probably for the reasons I outlined above :)

1) No high-quality freeware alternative available or in development
2) Payware alternatives poor quality and/or outdated
3) In-demand airport (that's my own assumption, could be wrong)

There might be a reason 4), but I don't know whether Cal's been involved in the Simflyers rendition. If he has, he probably already has a lot of materials available to build on, thus that would mean a shorter development time (again, an assumption on my part).

I'm not sure what the demand for BWI would be. FWIW, I'd love to have it, but I'm pretty certain that there's more bang for buck to be had out of KIAD, seeing as it is a gateway to Europe for a lot of flights.

Actually, I completely forgot about that. I guess Cal's decided that Shez's LGA was something he could compete with. I'll need to redownload and install Shez's rendition and see how it looks compared to Imaginesim's. I've dumped all the NYC airports that I've had installed a while ago, the overall impact on the area was nothing short of crippling. I wonder how FSDT's JFK will fare in this bottleneck.
I have my full trust behind FSdreamteam and their JFK, just look at how well they handled KORD.

Oh I don't know... The NY area is much more traffic-intensive than Chicago is. FSDT's ORD is fine when used with moderate traffic and without FT's MDW in the vicinity. I'm getting pretty low frames at ORD with 100% traffic (around 14-19fps, granted that's at 1600x1200) and with MDW installed...not to mention plenty of OOMs and CTDs to boot. My install may be somewhat wonky, seeing I haven't reinstalled FS9 in ages, but still...

NYC is JFK, LGA and EWR, plus all the Manhattan buildings being rendered too...at 100% traffic it's a performance nightmare. I don't think there's another area in FS that's so intense. But I guess the discussion is moot seeing that JFK will be released in a couple of months and then we'll see what the performance is like :)

That's strange. I have UT, FE, GE, FT KMDW, +300 AI in vicinity and pretty much stable 21-23FPS with PMDG747. No probs at all with FSDT KORD

My specs aren't all that bad (in the sig), it's probably mostly due to the resolution and quality settings that I run :) Alas I shall never sacrifice quality for FPS, so yeah... :)
