You're right, I'll remove it. I'm just in a nasty mood this morning (unflyable flickering [Nvidea] in my flightsim).

I'm so disappointed that this guy posted these pics and then said he's not going to release it or even release the unfinished project for someone else to finish.

My money is on it all being fake. There's no other reason someone would refuse to let someone else finish a project after that much work.

What's worse is that we'll be stuck with only having the Cal Lewin interpretation of KATL... which will probably be very boxy, bland, and generic.

Actually I've been very happy with the recent releases from IS. And hey, if it is boxy, bland, and generic, then it will be an accurate representation of ATL. :D

If I worked on a project for months there NO WAY I would just give it to some clown to finish and then take the credit for my work. Simflyers KBFI is a perfect example of that.

What's the story on that anyway? BFI was looking really good from where I was sitting. I was really surprised to see that project drop off the map...

Great question. I'd still like to have that scenery. I assume one of three things:

1. They ran into some technical issue that prevented it's completion.
2. The company ran into personal problems (ie: they had a falling out and split up.)
3. Somebody died.

KBFI

Post by drmiller21 » Mon Nov 05, 2007 3:09 am

Why does it seem like all the developers have Just Disappeared or no longer respond to Questions ext.. it isn't just Simflyers any more that seems to have gone Missing or are inactive. It seems that the only active developer still giving us airports for FS9 is Imagine Sim and flytampa why would the developers go away from FS9 when a good portion of the Flight Sim Community is Staying with FS9 since FSX is to expensive for one and will not run well on most Computers. I know I will never Upgrade to FSX as the developers seem to not want to make patches for what I have already bought for FS9, and any way My system would have major Issues in FSX . I will buy Imagine KATL as I am sure Since they have made lots of Improvements in there Projects and there frame rates are not as bad as in the past projects they have done. I would love to see KBFI as the picks of it look like Simflyers has Improved there Quality as well sad if it is shelved. as for Flytampa April of 2007 was a while ago is there any news on any new project for here.

Imaginesim and Blueprint simulations. Aerosoft as well. Those are the only ones I can think of. As of them not responding to questions, probably because there all tired of getting stupid requests. SINCE, most of the questions they do get are requests. I know martin and george will help on technical difficulties.

REquests

Post by drmiller21 » Mon Nov 05, 2007 12:44 pm

I don't Know. I have sent E-mails to Imagine and Blue print and both of them responded to the E-mails. Now I have had problems with some Scenery's from Simflyers ,and I sent them a E-mail to see how to fix The problem the E-mails went Un-answered. I also joined the forum at Flight Scenery to get support for KPDX and KPVD and they have ignored my account and all requests to resolve the issue of validating the account and it has been six month now Since I got KPVD almost a year Since I got KPDX. I can Understand they get tiered of request but they have to understand that the requests are coming from paying Customers shelling out lots of money when add-ons cost out wards of 20 to 70 and higher. I think the developers can be a little more giving in customer service with in reason.

1. Looks good as done from where I'm sitting--twelve miles from BFI. I suppose there's other possibilities there, but it sure was looking good...perhaps it was a frame killer and they decided to scrap it due to an increasingly frame-conscience sim community? Don't know!
2. Sounds probable, but isn't SimFlyers down to one developer anyways? Can't recall where I heard that...
3. That'd be a huge bummer. Let's hope not.

In any case, I too would really like to have that scenery. My AI traffic for BFI is pretty sweet, I'd like to have a nice scenery to go with!

The "stupid requests" theory wouldn't surprise me at all--given some of the stuff I've read here and elsewhere, I don't think I would waste my time addressing them either. That said, legitimate support should always be provided. Cheers to the FT team on that one.

Oh, just a second please 8) , I had just the intention to acquire FlightScenery KPDX. Are you saying I might encounter unresponsive customer service? activation/validation prblems unresolved? Thats serious man. I'm holding my horses. No KPDX then, can always file KSEA or KSFO as alternates

M.D.
It's true that the developer of KPDX has left his customers high and dry. I used to support that developer and his website but I've since had a change of heart. My thinking is that if the developer himself won't support his own project then why the hell should I do it for him? What I will say about PDX is that it is a fantastic product. I have it and have had no major issues with it.

As I said, PDX is a great product but the customer service after the sale is horrible. Both Paavo and myself used to help people out with issues at FlightScenery but we pretty much don't bother anymore. Though we continue to give tech support here. If you have issues with PDX just let us know and we'll try to help you out.
