ZHAM or EHAM

Post by Christopher » Wed Dec 21, 2016 2:19 pm

Just downloaded and installed the new Amsterdam - Schipol addon. Great product. Just have one question. Now in my scenery library, Netherlands, Schipol shows up as EHAM (the real one) and now I also have a ZHAM Schipol. Has anyone else encountered this and can I use the EHAM and safely discard the ZHAM? Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, ZHAM is a 'dummy airport' that needed to be included for technical reasons related to the 3D taxiway bridges. ZHAM should not be used for flying of course, so no need to worry about this 'oddity'.

Okay, thanks for the information. I'll disregard the ZHAM. Thanks for your response and have a Merry Christmas and a great 2017.

For info I set up Amsterdam using the South afcad. I also use GSX.

Today because winds were strong westerly I set up the West option. On completing a flight to Amsterdam I was unable to set up a gate using GSX. GSX had identified the airport as ZHAM with no gates.

Restarting and clearing the GSX cache did not work to force an acceptance of the West afcad. Looking in the scenery file there is a bgl for ZHAM.

So looking for a solution so that GSX picks up the correct and current afcad. Reluctant to experiment, particularly if there is a known solution.
