Clarification about non existing scenery trades
This is a clarification I feel I have to post as a follow up. I understand most of you won't care, maybe not even agree. George and myself are here to make nice sceneries for you and nothing else.
Due to some rather stupid comments and discussions I have been seeing on other websites, I feel it is important for those who do care to read the following. (I am aware the people who should read this probably won't it but what the heck).
First, there are NO scenery/location trading deals going on between FlyTampa and any other developers. The recent OSS press release has obviously given some people the idea this is the case because they didn't read it carefully enough. The actual trade announced in the press release doesn't concern us and we have nothing to do with it. We didn't trade anything, nor will we.
By the time I started the KMDW project I was fully aware KMDW was announced by OSS. I didn't care about this and started developing my own. What I did was let OSS know that I'm developing KMDW too, since I thought it would be unfair to keep them in the dark. I did let them know about this by the time I started the development 7 months ago and NOT this past week. And yes, of course the fact that I asked them to keep quite about my Fly-Midway before I made it public might have to do with the fact their press release only came out last week.
Second, whatever OSS would keep developing their KMDW was and is something I don't care about and I have stated so in the email we exchanged. Never have "we" decided that I would get to do KMDW in exchange for something else. That I decided myself no matter what the consequences and they now happen to have cancelled theirs. Blame that cancellation on me if you want, but I certainly didn't ask them to. That is a decision they took themselves.
Another thing is that I didn't "finish" OSS'es KMDW project, Fly-Midway is 100% my own work. Nothing regarding KMDW has ever been exchanged between me and OSS other than an email saying "Hey, I'm doing KMDW too.....".
I feel the subject of TNCM needs an explanation as well to hopefully avoid similar speculations. Vauchez is a good friend to us and he let us know that he is working on a TNCM scenery (covering several islands). I already pointed this out in another thread since it is no secret anymore and has been announced to the public. Never have we been asked not to develop our own Fly-TNCM in favor of his. As I have already stated elsewhere, whatever I still create a Fly-TNCM is something I will decide myself, NOT other developers or "we together" will decide that.
I understand most of you don't care about any of this as much as you care for good sceneries. I also wish to avoid creating duplicate sceneries when not necessary, however I feel it needs to be pointed out that our attitude towards this matter is that we do develop whatever sceneries the (insert some word made of 4 letters here) we want no matter what the consequences are. You can call me bad boy now if you want.
Enough of this "stupid politics" now and sorry again to the majority who doesn't care about this. Time to get back to work on the actual scenery, this mess has just taken away too much of my precious time and nerves.

This is just my opinion, but
Flight scenery is like works of art, each designer has is own style. It's not that one designer is better the the other, just different. Just like some people like different artist or artwork, having different visions of the same airport by different designers is great for us pilots. Gives us a choice. I, myself, enjoy Flytampa scenery over others, and I am sure there are others out there that perfer scenery of the same airport by a different designer. To all the scenery designers out there......Keep up the GREAT job!!!!

I never thought I could find a scenery that could choke the frame rates of my top-of-the-line system until I installed sceneries by several other developers. (Fortunately only demos!) FlyTampa scenery runs at a perfect 60 even on computers half as good as mine! Often, they run faster than some of the more detailed MSFT airports.
Between that and some other problems (like rendering cars in the parking lot that look like they were drawn in MSPaint on a flat texture) I would never choose anyone else over FT!
-TJ who is still waiting to have enough money to buy MDW...
