Hi!
I have had some bad performance on the new FlyTampa Copenhagen, and I have done some testing to find out what the culprit could be. I have a pretty good system (4.8GHz and GTX570) that is delivering 30+ FPS in Dubai, but in Copenhagen I have had around 22fps in the VC of the NGX when standing on the runway.
In aceridgey' thread there has been a lot of good suggestions and one of them were to check my REX textures. Since this is only happening on the runway looking at certain angles (looking down at the runway for example) I thought that maybe there was some sort of runway file that were delivered by REX that was active at the same time.
I looked through all of the files that REX edits (I have REX2 Essentials+ Overdrive), and especially the runway files. All of them had a large size compared to default, and after I had checked and replaced nearly all of the files with the default ones (not better fps) I had a file called runway_bump.bmp left that was located in my FSX/Texture folder (as all the other runway files). By default the file is only 85,4kb, but REX has gotten it up to 1.3mb. I replaced that one and went from 22 to 30 fps stable on the runway with the NGX (slightly higher with the AS Airbus).
So if you have some poor performance on the scenery and your runway_bump.bmp is 1.3mb (or any higher then default) by REX (or some other texture software), try and replace the file with the default FSX file (REX asks you to make a backup so it can be found there). I do not have REX 4 Texture Direct, but if you do it should also have a backup stored somewhere on your computer. My backup is located in my REX (REX2 Essentials+ Overdrive) Folder/Themes/Backup and a folder called initial backup.
