Installation Problem

Post by fltboy » Sun Nov 16, 2014 10:14 am

I bought the product today. The installation procedure went normal until towards the end when the uninstall.exe was extracted, at which point the following error message cropped up:

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution
is available.

However, I could not find any suggested solution after the program was closed.

I tried the installation two more times but the same problem appeared at the same point.

Please advise.

Make sure that the HDD you're installing to is not full or nearly full.
Attempt to install onto anther HDD by creating a temporary FSX or P3D folder on that drive and copy the respective FSX.EXE or Prepar3D.exe into that temporary folder.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I followed your instruction by installing the program into a temporary SFX folder in another SSD Drive with 339GB of free space but unfortunately the program stopped again at exactly the same point as mentioned earlier.

I have installed all scenery programs by your company successfully over the years. This is the first time I have encountered such an installation problem.

Is there any other alternative solution?

If I understand correctly, its not that the installer says "cannot write uninstall.exe" with options to retry/abort/cancel but that it crashes.

The only idea I have right now is that you send me an email requesting a redownload from an alternative location and we see if that fixes it.

Should I send the email to support@flytampa.com?
