Prepar3d v2.4 - Fatal error

Post by ChrisP » Thu Nov 13, 2014 4:21 pm

Hi there,
I hardly know where to start, as I am not very experienced with scenery add-on's.

I bought Flytampa Copenhagen because I live in Denmark and thought it would be cool to fly from.

I ran the install, and got the "unable to download vistamare..." message. And even though I tried to Google it I was not able to really understand what it was.

However the flytampa configurator appeared to run ok.

Then I started Prepar3d v2.4, and after it had gone thru the startup loading scenery etc... I got a "Fatal error" message.

After that, the flytampa configurator didn't really work anymore, or at least it was not accepting mouse clicks.

Then I removed the flyampa scenery, rebooted the PC and started over. This time I unchecked/minimized all options, except the animated winsock.
And then it actually worked, allthough without the icing on the cake.

However I still get the fatal errors sometimes when I try to start Prepar3d. And if I try to change settings in the configurator it crashes.

And then sometimes it is suddenly able to startup fine again. I really don't understand whats going on?

This is my setup:
Windows 8.1
Intel Core i7-5930K with 16 GB ram
Nvidia GTX 980 @ 2560x1600
Prepar3d v2.4, with startup in Copenhagen airport with Aerosoft A321
Add-ons: Aerosoft A321

Could someone perhaps guide me to get this thing up running?

Brgds,
Chris

Hi Chris,

After you installed Copenhagen, did you make any changes in the FlyTampa-Configurator before running P3D?
Have you, for example, switched seasons, or checked/unchecked any boxes?

Thanks for your reply.

Frankly I don't remember in what order I tried to change things first time.

But I tried to remove and reinstall 3 times, and on at least one occasion I left everything in the configurator untouched, before running P3D.

I am not too sure what might have caused this issue in P3D, as the installer would never 'mess' with default files that could cause such an error.

In P3D installation folder, you should find a 'FlyTampa' folder. In there, you can find a 'scripts' folder.
I need to have a look at two things from that folder.

1.The 'config_FT_CPH.XML' (you can zip and attach this here).
2.In the scripts folder, you will find a 'log' folder. Please zip this and attach here to have a look at the error logs.

I have attached the "config_FT_CPH.xml" file.
There is no log folder inside the script folder, only a "core" folder with 2 xml files.
I searched the whole P3Dv2 directory, and found no such folder.

Thanks for the file.
Have you installed Copenhagen in the P3D root folder, when asked by the installer? Have you also installed the libraries at the same (P3D root folder) location?

I did not give much attention to the install locations, just accepted the installers suggestions.

Configurator is located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\FlyTampa

scenery here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Addon Scenery
