Seattle Preview 2

Post by george[flytampa] » Mon Feb 14, 2005 11:47 pm

Happy Valentine's day

Inching closer to release. Nope; no ETA because I'm lucky enough
to have to work 12 hour days now.

My copy of Megascenery should arrive in the next two days, so I can start work on integrating Fly Seattle with it. I hear it actually improves
performance throughout the area.

Hope you chaps like the shots.

Seeing as how the LDS767 is just about ready to be released today, it sure would be nice to be able to fly her into Fly-Tampa's SEA

Yeah I did. It's a good product & looks wonderful at night.
I've not had a chance to fly with it yet, mainly because I want to do I night flight but I've not done Fly Seattle's night textures yet.

Performance with mega is about 3-5fps better in the area. There are less stutters when you slew around quickly because it doesn't have to load whatever Microsoft did to the area.

However, some bad stuff for me. The elevation around SEA seems incorrect. Also effecting the default SEA. I end up with 20ft cliffs around the airport & theres even a cliff through a nearby lake on the east side of the airport. The texture blend should work out ok tho. I'm still hoping Martin comes up with a nice way to soften the terrain mess they have made

There ARE cliffs around the airport, at the approach ends. VERY noticable on a CAT IIIa HUD approach where the radar altimeter comes up very fast.

I hope that SEA is out before the SEA-AMS route switches to an A330 in June.
