Boston V3 / FSX Preview

Post by george[flytampa] » Fri Sep 04, 2009 3:40 pm

Hey Guys.

Here's a few shots from my upcoming Boston Version3 scenery. It's work in progress, so it might improve a little more before release. Most major modeling & texturing is complete. A large percentage of structures have been re-built from scratch & re-textured. The new taxiway changes like the large parallel taxiway between 4L & 4R has been included.

Work remaining : Night & Specular maps, fences, gate vehicles n' crates, a few more animations, taxiway lights, AFCAD, kill bugs & polish.

When will it be released? It has to be soon. I lost my job 2 months ago so I have about 3 months remaining before I can't afford food :) Sorry, that means it no longer freeware.
I have to move home at the end of September & rather than rush to ship it before the big move, I'd rather get it right & ship later. So I hope to release in mid October if all goes well.

Hope you like the shots...

Heres another preview shot that shows the geometry improvements to Terminal E compared to the old V2 freeware geometry.

Sorry about the Married with Children characters, they help explain it to Martin :)

Great work George, sorry about your job loss! :-(

My questions for you...

1.) Is this release covering FSX as well as FS2004?
2.) Have you tested the airport with the MeagaSceneryEarth covering this area?
3.) Will it work with Windows 7?
4.) Will it be priced like Kai Tak or cheaper since it does not cover the surrounding area.

Luv the Married with Children humor...Darryl

Its FSX now. FS9 will come later.

2.) Have you tested the airport with the MeagaEarth Scenery covering this area?
Not tested but it should be okay.

3.) Will it work with Windows 7?
Yes

4.) Will it be priced like Kai Tak or cheaper since it does not cover the surrounding area.

Cheaper.

Now that BOS is made for FS9 too, I'll be glad to help you make a living :)
It looks amazing. Can't wait...

I will be more than happy to buy the Boston when it comes out for FS9. I would be happy to help out a fellow Orlando Resident. Looks Great!!!

George,

Sorry about the job, George. Keep your chin up, the federal government is easy to get money off of for unemployment. If a drug adict can receive unemployment to pay for his next fix, you should have no problem getting the money you need....I hope. :|

Anyways....

I will love to see the FS9 scenery updated.

Considering I still think you should've charged for the V2 Boston scenery, I have no problem paying, even in the range of thirty dollars, for an updated FS9 BOS. In fact, I'd be willing to pay money for the V2 in its currently outdated state...that's how good it is.

Anyways, great to see another scenery being worked on by you and I love that improved E Terminal. I am at that airport so often that I notice the small changes and can't wait to see this scenery complete.

George i'm sorry to hear about your job losses, but will be happy to buy KBOS when it's done regardless of your job status.

Does this mean that until you regain regular employement that you will continue to work on updating some of your older sceneries for FSX as a source of income?

American Gate B32 (AA11) http://www.panoramio.com/photo/3471791 should have a flag pole with an American flag, Along with Uniteds gate 19 (UA175). Thankyou for your great work :D Here is a photo I took when I worked as a Mechanic at KBOS.

Didn't think I'd get away with forgetting these again. I was going to add the 9/11 glass cube they have behind TermA & skip the flag. I'll add the flags soon.

If sales are reasonable I'd like to go into fulltime scenery work.
I'll have to wait & see. I'm not looking for a new job anyway, i'm risking it with Boston.

I'm not planning any updates. Some of the older sceneries are so dated & too much work, its best to just start from scratch.
