AI-Traffic with World of AI

Post by martin[flytampa] » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:12 am

Kai-Tak traffic for WoAI http://www.world-of-ai.com/

Download & copy this file: www.flytampa.org/dwl/Traffic_WoA_VHHX_Special.bgl

...to your FS9 or FSX folder:
/scenery/world/scenery/

Note this is not made by, endorsed or in any way related to the good folks of WoAI. It is nothing more then a special Traffic BGL invoking WoAI at Kai-Tak with schedules from 1998. No copyrights claimed, feel free to use, decompile, modify, etc.

To get the most out of it the following WoAI packages should be installed:

Air China
Air France
Air Hong Kong
Air India
Air New Zealand
All Nippon Airways
British Airways
Cathay Pacific
Cargolux
China Airlines
China Eastern
China Southern
Dragonair
Emirates
Eva Airways
Federal Express
Gulf Air
Japan Airlines
KLM
Korean Air
Korean Air Cargo
Lufthansa
Malaysia Airlines
Martinair Cargo
Nippon Cargo Airlines
Northwest Airlines
Qantas Airways
Royal Brunei
Singapore Airlines
Thai Airways
United Airlines
United Parcel Service
Virgin Atlantic

Yes, as long as you have the WOAI planes installed.

Enjoy, the AI is fun to watch, almost like all those vdeos of planes landing on the edge of the runway and almost striking an engine and wing tip.

2 remarks to the taffic-file

Post by LOWW » Fri Jul 04, 2008 1:41 pm

thanx 2 Martin for this service!

two remarks to this topic (what should be said):

1) if any airline of this *.bgl gets an update it's possible that the file doesn't work proper (exchange of aircraft).

2) this Traffic_*.bgl will generate duplicate flights to and from Hong Kong (the only difference is the airport - so after a few miles they will fly with dupes).

i recommend:

pick out e.g. the airlines with their home in HongKong, decompile the flightplans and change (redirct them) "VHHH" to "VHHX" and recompile the packages. you can see this airlines searching for "Hong Kong" on the WoAI-package-page.

but you have to remaster this again with any airline update too.

thx LOWW for the advice. since the bgl already adds traffic to vhhx, is there a way to just cancel all traffic to vhhh instead of redirecting them?

of course there is a way, but why want you do it (i don't recommend it)?

1) de-compile every WoAI-pack of airlines which are going to VHHH.
2) edit the flightplan for every airline. (delete the destination VHHH - i'm sure that drives everybody nuts)
3) recompile the traffic-file

the best opportunity is to decompile, edit from VHHH to VHHX and recompile for the airlines seated in Hong Kong and i promise you that you have enough traffic on Kai Tak and VHHH. believe me.

* Hong Kong Airlines
* Dragonair
* Cathay Pacific Airways
* Oasis (if you have the pack, they don't operate any more)
* Cathay Pacific Cargo
* Air Hong Kong (Cargo)

if this is too less for you, you can also redirect other airlines too.

but beware of updates (then you have to redo the work for the updated airline)!

The Traffic was discussed a while ago here:

viewtopic.php?t=3092

Some extra info there. There are many ways of getting traffic to Kai-Tak, several choices have to be made in the process.

- How much time you want to spend on getting it done
- Do you want both VHHX & VHHH alive
- Do you want VHHX with semi-realistic schedules from 1998
- Do you care about added traffic elsewhere around the world with service to HK

Hi,

I downloaded and placed the bgl file into my scenery world scenery folder but all traffic is still coming in and leaving on RWY 31. My AI traffic is WOAI. Can someone tell how to fix this so traffic will fly the checker board approach.
Thanks.

If you don't have ASV, simply go to weather menu/user defined weather and set wind to 130. Then reload the scenery and enjoy.

If you want WoAI traffic elsewhere apart from KT you keep all files. The only case you would delete them is if you use another AI Addon and installed WoAI on top just for KT traffic.
