Boston in FSX Problem

Post by mdog1993 » Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:43 pm

I know that Boston is not designed for FSX but when i put it in it looked perfectly fine. Just one problme the frame rates. I have $3500 pc so it isnt that. i get 35fps with your st. maarten scenery. when i load boston with the same settings i get like 0.8FPS!! I fi lower all the settings to nothing i get a tops of 8! :o
how do i fix this if i can...

What fps do you get at KBOS when the Addon is deactivated in the Scenery Library? Is that with SP2?

"when i put it in it looked perfectly fine"

That it really looks perfectly fine as George intended it to look is unlikely. All scenery developed for FS2004 causes problems in FSX.

As Dillon said, if you want to use Addons made for FS2004, re-install FS2004. You don't have to ditch FSX in the process, you just can't force FS2004 Addons into FSX.

yes it is with sp2.
what i meant by "it looks fine" is that it didnt seem to have any texture glitches like other fs9 sceneries i have tried. i uninstalled it to see what frames i was getting and it was in the mid 20s on ultra high settings.
i just dont get it. :|

Its impossible it runs without visual glitches. I can see the ground clipping in your first shot anyway. As for the FPS drop; I have no idea. I just tried it here & it runs 1-2 fps faster than the default scenery.

Ok, just tried with SP2 & there is a FPS hit. Its caused by the FSSC runways. 'LoganFSX.bgl'. You can delete it to restore the framerate, but you'll have no runwaymarkings or lights. Not much a can do to fix it quickly. Thank Microsoft again for providing an alternative set of techniques :)

SP1 & earlier are fine.

because my computer runs fsx at full great! so once that happens going back to fs9 is like going back to the 1930's.

I see exactly what you mean, run FSX if your PC can handle especially under high settings.
What are your PC specifications.
