Aircraft below scenery

Post by Nigel S » Sat Apr 14, 2007 5:00 pm

Hi
my aircraft are sitting below the runway level at st Maarten, also same for the A1 at the terminal, its same at TFFJ with trees etc floating above ground.

Im using FS genius terrain with globle textures of Ground Enviroment Pro.

Any Sugestions Please

Regards Nigel

Edit, Not sure if it matters but bought from simmarket, they gave me two downloads, fs9 - fsx, could they be mixed up??

Check that all files got copied to the proper location.

For airport elevation: Check that

FS9/scenery/world/scenery

has the files

AF2_TNCM_flytampa_dummy.BGL
AF2_TFFJ_flytampa_dummy.BGL
AF2_SABA_flytampa_dummy.BGL

If this is missing, run the installation program again.

If you have "Fly to the Caribe 6", rename or delete any files with TNCM in them.

heya, Im experience the same problem with that scenery, but with GA aircraft it works fine. But with jets i.e PMDG, posky. it sinks below the surface, it only happens on the runway but at the gates its perfectly level

I had the same problem as soon as I taxied onto the runway with any a/c. Pull back to the taxiway and I climbed out of the hole. But as I previously said, it was the Fly to the Caribe6 scenery causing the problem. Just renaming all of the TNCM files to .xxx in Caribe solved the problem.

It sounds as though something else is the cause.

This is strange. I have two separate installs of FS9(military items and civilian) and also FSX. I have Fly Tampa St Maarten on all three. It works great in FSX and the Military set. On the civilian set, the sinking problem is present. I have "Pilot's FS Global" mesh installed on all three. I have checked the civilian set for the above item and also checked my AFCAD and other scenery sets and deleted those. I still have the sinking problem at TNCM in the civil set. The runway elevation shows as 4 ft but the ramp area is up at 17ft. I tried using JABBGL and AFCAD 2 to adjust elevations without success. I did try a reinstall without success. Is there a flatten switch for Princess Juliana that will fix this problem??

DISREGARD ALL ABOVE--FOUND THE PROBLEM. I HAD A FREEWARE TNCM THAT WAS NOT DELETED WHEN I RAN THE INSTALL CHECK.
ALL IS WELL AND THE WORLD IS RIGHT!!! I found it with a system search for AF2_TNCM then just deleted the offending file. :D :D :D

I really think the Scenery is great!! Works like a champ in the military set and in FSX. Thanks for great payware! FYI, Continental Express uses TNCM as a layover point on delivery flights of their ERJ's from Embraer in Brazil.

GZR_Sactargets: Can you post one or more screenshots looking form the water to the airport with the beach and runway straight in sight.

What I would like to know is whatever the whole airport (expect the runway) is being elevated above sea level. If you look in your other installation (where it works okay) you will notice the whole field is leveled with the ocean.

Also: Are you (or anyone else) aware whatever FSGlobal includes anything other then Mesh files? Does it replace default AP*.bgls?

I put this files in scenery folder like this: AddonScenery/Flytampamarteen/scenery
AF2_TNCM_flytampa_dummy.BGL
AF2_TFFJ_flytampa_dummy.BGL
AF2_SABA_flytampa_dummy.BGL

Works well?

Those need to be in FS2004/scenery/world/scenery/

If not they won't work (=elevation problems)
