YSSY-Black textures

Hi All,

I am getting black textures on some buildings, including the control tower, and all taxiway signs. I've looked all over the forun but cannot for the life of me figure this out....

SIM: P3Dv4.4,
Add ons - ORBx, PMDG 747v3 , Active Sky
* Installed YSSY with patch as per instructions.
* Changed order of scenery above ORBx AU, moved the LC to different priorities.
* Uninstalled ORBx AU
* Fresh P3D install, and YSSY with patch with no other addons

Are they like that permanently or just after a view change or load?

What kind of video card do you have?

Load up task manager, go to the performance tab, hit GPU 0 and see how much Dedicated GPU memory you have left when Sydney is running.

Hi George,

It's always been like that, except for just now weirdly enough.... The tower and some other towers are now OK, but the taxiway signs, lights and a few other buildings on the international side are still black. I have also tried reducing the size of textures for YSSY and also reduced the cloud texture sizes too.
The video card is an RTX 2070

Ah, that's not my scenery. You probably have another YSSY installed.

I didn't realise Orbx AU2 had installed in between troubleshooting, that explains why the tower textures are back. But other than ORBX, there are no other sceneries. Its a relatively fresh install.

There might be a YSSY afcad that comes with Orbx. I can see default taxiway signs, default tower etc. Something is excluding the Flytampa scenery.

OK, so...

* I've uninstalled Orbx and left only FlyTampa YSSY, same black texture issues.
* Deleted all scenery cfg files, restarted P3D, turned it off, installed YSSY and patch... Same black textures.
* Deleted all scenery cfg files, deleted YSSY, restarted PC, started up P3D to rebuild files and closed it, installed ORBx and started P3D, closed it. Installed YSSY and patch, moved SYD folder to #1, did not add the LC scenery folder as per Orbx instructions. Still black textures.
* Dialed down all display settings to basics ie. HDR off etc., black textures. Disabled Orbx and left YSSY only... black textures. Enabled Orbx and disabled YSSY, default textures are fine.
Also removed any Orbx YSSY bgl file i could find, turned regions off 1 by 1, all still gave black textures with FlyTampa.

It's just weird that some textures work. For instance, the IKEA building and containers are fine. The cranes at Port Botany are fine. The Kernell refinary, terminals, jetways, taxi signs, airservices tower, all black. And also the missing runway textures....

Have you reinstalled from our installer again? Black objects can indicate the textures are missing. Maybe you converted them in the wrong format?
The ground doesn't look right either.

Yes, always from the installer, then the manual copy of the patch. TBH the runway textures are a bigger issue than the black buildings.

So I took the opportunity and upgraded Prepar3D from v4.4 to v4.5, and made YSSY as the first and ONLY addon installed...

Same issue.

Here is a list of all the textures installed. Anything missing?

The install was via the installer, and then the patch. Any ideas?

There are loads of files missing. About 150 textures. Everything after G.

Did you run out of Harddrive space? Something interrupting the installer?

No nothing like that. It's the original installer from purchase in January this year which never worked from the start, I just been too busy to troubleshoot.

Can I get another download link?

I noticed the Scenery library entry is pointing to Z drive but you have it installed on S drive. Could that be a problem?

No, it's a new install on a formatted drive with a new letter assigned.
