Approach lighting for runway 13 center

Post by Capt.Ed » Mon Nov 28, 2005 9:54 am

Hi guys,

I am a huge fan of fly Tampa (Midway) and have made it my offical airport to fly in and out of,GREAT JOB!!!!
O.K. Alot of simmers who have this product have asked about runway 13 center having an approach system. I was from Chicago and back about 20 Years I did remember a stobe system set up for this. Well last night was an IFR night and Midway was using Runway 13 Center for landings. The conditions where rain and mist, overcast with the jets breaking out of the clouds about 700 feet. I decided to find out for myself what approach system they have so here it is. I know this is not published on any nav data so I am sure that is the reason you did not add this. The system in place for runway 13 center is a rail type system with 4 stobe lights and yes it was activated that night. Now knowing this new info I decided to add the new approach info with my AFCAD 221 program but I cannot make the modification. Can you tell me now knowing the new info can you come up with a patch to add the new system for Midway?
Thanks again guys and great work!

Thanks for this info. Basically you mean the same system present in the scenery on 31C applies for 13C as well?

PS: You cannot just add that via Afcad2. I'll have to add it to the "update-list".

Thats correct Martin, the only difference is that 13 center has 4 stobes where 31 center has 3. The strobes are set up in the parking lot on the northwest corner of 55th and Central in line of course with the runway. Any other questions or if you need a picture I am sure I can get one for you. Once again, great product!
