Hi,
Thank you for putting together some of the patches for your scenery in preparation for Prepar3D v4, I was wondering if full installers that are compatible would be made available rather than having the manual process and if there was a time frame on this?
I also am wondering how I get access to these fresh installers (assuming they will arrive) since I bought a lot of my FlyTampa scenery via the BMTmicro route and not Simmarket. Is it best for me to just use the patches and my original downloads or perhaps wait for the full installers to become available.
Regards

Re: New Installers for Prepar3D v4
Updated installers for V4 will be made eventually but it it will take a while because on top of testing the patches we are releasing now, we need to also test which of the updated files are backwards compatible with V3 and FSX and implement it into the installers accordingly. This will take a little longer because I want to keep a single Installer file for FSX,P3Dv3,V4 and not have separate downloads for them. I also don't like to rush new installers because there maybe more obscure bugs that users will still discover in the coming weeks. Its easier for us to quickly fix those with ZIP files as they appear.
To sum up, new full installers are most likely more then a month away.

Re: New Installers for Prepar3D v4
Would you please be willing to adopt the add-on package system used in P3D 3.3 and 4.x?

It seems much better than placing files directly into the simulator.
Thank you.

Since your scenery collection has grown pretty substantially over the years, have you guys thought about an "Operation Center" type installer - like Orbx & FSFX have? With numerous sceneries and platforms now available that seems like the easiest solution from a developer and customer point of view.martin[flytampa] wrote:Updated installers for V4 will be made eventually but it it will take a while because on top of testing the patches we are releasing now, we need to also test which of the updated files are backwards compatible with V3 and FSX and implement it into the installers accordingly. Re: New Installers for Prepar3D v4
Like the two previous posts, it would be good to adopt the new install path outside the root folder and have your own ops centre to look after all your sceneries and updates etc

Re: New Installers for Prepar3D v4
From what I see, airport elevation changes still need files to be loaded "early" in /scenery/world/scenery/, that has been the main reason Installers ask for root instead of any other location. To move the whole FlyTampa folder to another location after installing hasn't been a problem in years.
