Flytampa PHL

That would be lovely. Not too big but not too small. I would be honored if they even considered it.

there is a group called Project Upgrade that is doing a pretty good looking version of PHL. the only problem is they haven't given us an update since December. im still trying to contact Dan (the leader) for an update. heres the link to their fourm: http://www.fsgateway.com/discuss/index.php?board=269.0

oh yeah, for other US Airways flyers, Imaginesim is doing a scenery for KCLT. not FlyTmapa quality, but better than the default scenery. (just so you know, im new here, and don't know if i can poast about other payware scenery developers on this fourm. if i can't, sorry about it in advance

Yes, Project upgrade is still working on it. Right now we are working on the photoscenery, and after that it is all downhill from their. I did a little AFCAD work for dan and provided some pictures of the area since I live near there. I know it prolly wont be awhile until it is complete though, since the photoscenery regiment is taking Josh a little while.

This may be the dumbest question I ever ask...
But since Project Upgrade's KHFD is freeware, will Philly be freeware, too?

Crossing my fingers...

Yes, PHL will be freeware. :D

I know Dan said that he found someone to do the textures, im not quite in the loop about how that is going, but I know we are going to do the Photoscenery first. Joe Wagner has done magnificiant work with the modeling of the terminals. They are very accurate, and believe this coming from a guy who flies US Airways outta Philly all the time. As I said before, Photoscenery needs to be completed first before we do anything. I know the AFCAD has had alot of work done but before it is complete, PS needs to be complete first, so alot of the placements will have to be redone (ughh).

Regarding Project Upgrade PHL, as the sole 3D modeller on the project thus far, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this project will probably never see the light of day.

I lost my registered copy of GMax after having to re-format several months ago. Also, I do not have the time to devote to the project anymore, nor the technical expertise required to produce the desired results.

I have also not heard anything from Dan about the status of the project in quite a while. The only photo scenery we have from Josh is very low resolution at this point, and I'm not sure he is able to devote time to our project (Dan handled all communications with him). I also do not know of any texture artist working with us either.

As it stands now, all that exists are my BGLs of the un-textured terminal structure, Tower/Tracon and the UPS cargo building. I've met with many problems when trying to apply simple textures, and as I said I never knew of any texture artist that was going to take over that work. Dan expressed some intrest in taking on the rest of the project himself, but I haven't spoken to Dan about the project in several months. Its unfortunate really, because I had managed to perfect the placement of sizing of the entire terminal structure after some arduous work.

Hope that clears up any misconceptions about the project.

How many pictures did you guys have of the real airport? Also, why does it matter that you lost your registered version of Gmax? Download Gmax again and reregister. I just had to reformat last week and I did that very thing.

Well, I dont know about Joe, but I have given Dan plently of great pictures to work with (since I go there alot.) Joe is on Airliners.net, and he takes pictures of PHL as well. As Joe said, Dan has handeled ALL communications with Josh. I personally think that their is no way we can finish this, its too unorganized. The people Dan is getting to "Work" on the project have barely touched it. They are "too busy." Dan basically said he would get all these people to help us, and his plans never fell through really. I think if we are to put out PHL, it would have be done with a staff that is dedicated to the project.

LOL, the joys of scenery design. That's why my team only consists of two people. More than that are hard to keep up with. We'll talk offline Dan.
