RWY 24L [Radar Contact FIX]

Post by CEOEAV » Thu Jan 24, 2013 9:04 pm

George, Radar contact gave me 24L at a heading of 208* and the RWY real heading is 238*. Now your scenery is correct at heading 238 but trying to figure why Radar contact would see it at 208.

I don't know as i'm not a radar contact user. Hopefully someone else might have an idea.

Hi,

have you made a database update with makerwys.exe? If I remember correctly this is done via the radar contact menue.

I suggest this after new sceneries are installed, same for PFE!

Cheers,

Yes I do that every time I add a new scenery.

I have just purchased this fantastic scenery, I noticed the same thing. All the runway headings were off on Radar Contact, and I was never contacted by tower on final.
I traced it down to an incorrect mag var in the AFCAD. Fly Tampa has it as "-15" . I compared that to the stock FSX afcad, and several freeware afcads. All these showed "15" (no minus sign). I used ADE to change the mag var, recompiled and replaced the FlyTampa afcad. After that it was necessary to "rebuild scenery database" in Radar Contact, and problem solved.

Can you share that AFCAD?

Hello CEOEAV:

Here it is. Don't forget to rebuild the scenery database in RC.
As usual, backup your original before replacing with this one.

Just a follow-up to this problem. I only purchased Montreal in November 2021 and as a keen Radar Contact user I was perplexed by the vectors given to me on approach.

Turns out the AFCAD in the supplied package has not been corrected. Perhaps the developers could look at fixing this as it took a lot of searching and test flights before the solution was found.

My thanks to @sevenflyer.

Apologies. It appears I was using an AFCAD supplied for GSX with enhanced jetways. It seems that had the incorrect mag var value.
