Trust me it not my System. This is the only airport addon I have had issues with.

system specs :
intel Core i9 10900X
Nvidia RTX 3090 FE
Corsiar 32 gb of Ram @3200 mhz,
Samsumg 970 2tb NMVE ssd

was there something that need to be turned off on the asobo side that I missed?

Update: I push all my traffic sliders back to 10 or less and was able to fly around the airport and land with no CTD's thanks for the tip.

I'm working on a massive performance patch. Don't know it it will make a difference but on paper its a VRAM saving on nearly 500mb.
A few more tricks on going.

I noticed while testing, the TIN / Photogrammetry gobbles up a massive amount of VRAM even without the scenery. Reducing texture resolution in the settings helps bring down VRAM.

In other news, the Return to menu CTD has been fixed. It was caused by ASOBO's new Vector tool.
hi george! I guess the performance patch is not yet released since then right? Today i bought Boston and flew there from KDCA. All went fine until shortly before touch down on 04. My frames dropped immediately below 20 and while taxing to the appron it fell even to 9-12 fps. I played around a little and found out that this frame drop is caused solely depending on Terrain Level Of Detail setting. I usually have it at 400. KLAS is no Problem, also YSSY together with the city pack works fine. Actually i never had performance issues with my 9700k 3800ti and 32GB Ram.

I flew around a little bit with the velocopter and noticed that this drop is only happening in the airport area. Flying above the city and harbour restores my frames almost to normal levels. I played around a little bit with the Terrain Level Of Detail and made some screenhots for 100 and 200. As said before, my usual set value is 400, and with that i had ~9-15fps. Lowering it to 300 would give me ~15-20.

Its a really beatiful scenery, great job guys. I just hope i can fly there again without the need to drop my settings to <200 :P

best Regards

The patch has been out weeks. Re-install.

The FPS drop is sadly normal after a flight, its a Asobo issue.

BOS is a TIN area, so might get affected by the terrain LOD differently than other locations.
There's nothing within the scenery that could affect the terrain LOD as far as I know.

TIN areas don't allow CGl. Terraforming is out of the question due to the horrible low resolution.

oh, sad :( … Well, at first I also thought it’s because it’s the end of the flight (actually It seems I am one of the lucky guys not affected by this performance bug, never happened to me but I never fly longer then 2h hops) . So of course I closed the sim, restarted it and spawned directly there. That’s also when I took the screenshots. I will try tomorrow vanilla KBOS and let you know if it behaves same.

Thanks for bringing up the terrain LOD. I've noticed a massive difference too. I don't think its anything to do with our scenery.
I suggest you just set it to 100 or 200 as the benefits of 400 look insignificant unless mountain flying.

I did some tests with Flytampa Boston and stock Boston. Both are heavily affected so no blaming the scenery :)
I tested other TIN/Photogrammetry areas too. The NewYork airports take a massive hit from high terrain LOD settings. Not as bad as Boston tho.

hey George ... i can absolutely confirm. As said yesterday, i tried today aswell the default KBOS and its exactly the same. Your scenery actually is only 2-3 fps less performant then the default scenery. Good indication that its done pretty nice :) ... But well, its still sad. I actually can see a big difference between 100 and 300 or 400 :P ... Those nasty little asobo issues again. Next time before complaining i will check the default airports :P ... BTW, same seems to be the case also at KLAX and other regions with lots of photogrammetry. There is a bug report on the official msfs forums, so please everyone reading it. Please upvote it and make it visible to asobo :) https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/te ... -to-ground
