Boston Logan v2

Post by mleuck » Sat Jan 28, 2006 4:18 pm

I am having a large amount of ground texture flickering. Did I do something wrong? Is there a fix for this?
Thank you,
Michael

There's a few others with this problem. I'm sorry I've not seen it happen myself.

Check you don't have any other Boston AFCADs.
Do you have any terrain addons?
Aerosoft Manhattan installed?

Just a hunch, but Manhattatten can cause problems.
Could you please try disabling it in your scenery library & see if Boston is ok?

I deactivated the Manhatten scenery and the flickering seems to have stopped.

Now that is interresting. Thanks.

I don't know how to fix it tho. I'm fairly certain my settings are in order.

Well, I'll just keep Manhatten disabled unless I am fling into NYC. If you find a fix, would you please post it?

Thanks for your help and thank you for sharing such a fine scenery!

Take care

Hi Georges ..

I know maybe it's the wrong place ...but about flickering
Could you send me another set of mipmapped textures for KSEA.
Our first experience seemed full of promises and I still do not know wether you read my following posts on the subject.

Thanks a lot

Because of the low incidence angle ground textures are viewed at, I can't allow mipped versions to get into circulation because I'd have complaints about blurring.

You'll have to provide me with a 'small' video. I suspect you have a system or setup problem because with the AA & AF settings you have, there should be no flikering.

What is your mip quality set to? it should be best around 4-6.

Your mips are set to 8!!. It's gotta be that causing the problems.

Ok George

I set my mips at 4, 5 and 6 with no difference.
I reset my Seattle aereal picture under megascenery in the library... ( Seattle has a bigger number than Megascenery )with no difference as long as flickering is concerned, but far better for the general scenetry around KSEA

Now for the video, I never did one and I don't know how to do this ...sorry
I'll have to ask a friend.

Do not know what to do , I feel discouraged :-(
Thanks for your efforts
