X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Hi guys, i'm sure this has been covered but as far as i'm aware there is not a configurator of scenery for x-plane. To make this run okay on my PC i'm going to need to disable some animations but wanted to see what was reccomended.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
First off, can I ask if you are running on openGL or Vulkan? It is strongly recommended that Vulkan rendering is enabled for Vegas.
Other stuff to consider is XPlane graphics settings-the manual should give a good indication for a standard setup which gives usually a good framerate. Out of those, reflections (because of the ton of glass at Vegas) in particular can go a bit low without noticing a significant visual difference
Disabling animated billboards is also an option (not as effective as above options though), I will post a sticky topic soon with instructions.

Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
yep its a heavy scenery but its packed with sooo much goodies :P ... So its kinda clear that this will have some serious impact ... For me what helps is using FlyAgy Tweak tool ... it has a lot of easy to change settings to increase performance. I am only using the auto lod functionality here for some sceneries like this one ... Just set target FPS to 30 (even 25 is still ok since Beta 16 is almost completely stutter free) and activate the Auto LOD ... fortunately i dont need to use it completely, so you could try and use the other settings too and squeeze out even more fps :) ...

Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Also having extremely bad performance at KLAS -- cannot currently use it at night.
Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Having somewhat of a bad experience as well. When I am looking in certain directions, i can get it up to 30 FPS. But standing directly in front of some terminals, I have a consistent 17 FPS.
Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Same problem here but only during the nighttime. My FPS drop from around 60-65 fps (daylight) to around 28fps (!!!) when the lights are up. There seems to be a severe issue with the lighting.

Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Wow Vulkan improved my frames entirely. I'm even able to run reflections at full. Thanks for the help and please make more of your airports available for X-plane!!!! So awesome.

Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Sadly, still, even with Vulkan, horrific frames. 29, pointing away from the strip. 15, flying over it.
And this is on a 10900K @52GHz and a 2080ti.
4K
Objects High (Not Max)
Textures High (Not Max)
2XSSAA
Reflections low
And the 1.1 hotfix.
And animations disabled.
Just for reference: This yields me 40 FPS in the Zibo (a hog), at DD's KJFK, pointing at DD's NYC Manhattan skyline. I also get 40FPS at KLAX, pointing at DTLA, in Orbx's SoCal.
So. . .What gives, here?
Best,
Marshall

Re: X-plane 11 horrific frames.
Have to echo this old thread and Marshall's comments. New purchaser of KLAS here.
I've got a 10850K, RTX3080 so a fairly hefty rig and night time CPU hit from KLAS in XPlane in Vulkan is still crushing my frames, with all the settings set to the recommended values as per the manual. The hotfix does nothing on my side to improve things, nor does the non-animated billboard option.
Have tried changing anisotropic filtering, reducing texture size, reducing number of objects from high to medium, antialiasing setting etc, but my woes seem to be linked to CPU usage at night only. None of the sliders have any impact whatsoever. Last night on app to 01L I had a drop from about 35fps down to as low as 21 which I can't replicate in any of the other 3rd party sceneries I have.
Wish we could have some scalable options for KLAS in xplane as I can do without some of the bells and whistles for a more flyable experience. Dunno if anyone from FlyTampa reads these old posts :)
