Aerosoft's US Cities X Boston

Post by george[flytampa] » Sat Feb 24, 2018 12:18 pm

US Cities X Boston is compatible with Flytampa Boston rebooted with some small adjustments.

Rename AF2_KBOS_ALT.BGL to AF2_KBOS_ALT.OFF
This file can be found in Your Prepar3D Folder\Scenery\World\Scenery
Without disabling this file you will experience elevation problems.

To remove photoscenery problems around the airport. Find Your Prepar3d Folder\Ecosystem\aerosoft\USCitiesX-Boston\Scenery

Rename Boston_Aerial_B02.bgl to Boston_Aerial_B02.off

Conflicting buildings on the Cargo ramp can be disable by re-naming
Boston3D_Collected_NormalApt.bgl to Boston3D_Collected_NormalApt.off
Found in Your Prepar3D\Ecosystem\aerosoft\USCitiesX-Boston\Scenery

I got Boston installed it’s a good product but the city buildings at night got no lighting. They must of cheaped out or ran out of money developing it.

That applies to the whole Aerosoft US Cities Series (except Las Vegas). It's by design to keep it "cheap" indeed, but it's been certainly a questionable decision.

Kind regards, Michael

sorry to drag this one up again but I thought I would point out that you also have an AF2 file in the ecosystem aerosoft uscitiesx folder that needs to be turned off as well. At least that is what helped me. But yes, incredible what buying Aerosoft CitiesX improved the performance in the area...

Do you mean the scenery file AF2_KBOS.bgl need to be renamed as well?

Yes. Just click rename and highlight bgl and type off and save.

Hello George

I found in Aerosoft, Ecosystem, scenery folder a folder named FlyTampaKbos and inside it two files as per the pictures. Should they be placed in Fly Tampa's KBOS scenery folder?
Thanks Carlos

Don't use the FlytampaBoston files that come with Aerosoft Boston. They are for our older FSX\FS9 BOS sceneries

Hi George
Sorry but I didn't understand the not using Aerosoft files... Do I have to remove that fly Tampa folder inside Aerosoft?
Would you please clarify

I also have two questions.

01.- How can I fix the water look? it seems that it creates a sort of an awful square in the water of different tone as per the pictures
02.- Why some products like in this case KBOS take so long to load the textures? They remain black for a while and then they star loading in blocks like a domino

Thank you so much for your assistance

Regards,
Carlos

Should I set a priority of products?
I found a Boston water bgl in Aerosoft scenery forlder and another one named Boston water ext.bgl

Could these be the ones making that square in the water?

Thanks

Carlos

The texture loading can be fixed with a p3d.cfg setting.

The water problems I think is a side effect of using AS City & Flytampa together.
