litetex/hitex package changes

Post by vortex » Sat Mar 24, 2018 12:02 pm

If switching to litetex package from hitex package is required to avoid OOM....do the following scenery files need to be removed from the FSX scenery library before running the litetex package configuration tool?

Fly Tampa Toronto
Fly Tampa Toronto_LC
Fly Tampa Libraries

Unsure as of yet if this package change will be required but don't want to make any reinstall errors if so

Thanks

Nothing gets changes to the Scenery Library when installing either Lite or HI textures. They just replace existing files, nothing in the Scenery Library.

Thanks for the quick response Martin

Just so I'm clear about this....if switching over to the litetex package do I just download and run the FLy Tampa-Toronto Litetex Pack (22 MB self installer) from the downloads page and this will rewrite the Fly Tampa Toronto scenery files in the FSX scenery library to standard 1024 textures with no need to run the configuration tool again?

Thanks again and best regards

Yes, you run either the Lite or Hi Tex installer and nothing else needs to be done. To revert the changes to stock (if you don't like how it looks), you run the main Toronto Installer again.

Ok that's great....I suspect that I may have to revert to the standard 1024 textures using FTX Global w/ Open LC North America....ASN and Traffic 360 installed based on some of the comments I've come across in the forum.....but I'll try running with the Hitex package installed first and check the system performance....if it has any difficulties or displays OOM warnings then I'll run the litetex package self installer

Thanks again for the quick response Martin....I appreciate it

Best Regards
