Next Project Update
Not sure why people keep repeating the same things over and over again, although Martin has said that either he won't do them at all or won't do them now, and that the next project is somewhere far away from everything released so far.
So here's a recap:
US airports: nope, too close to "what has been released so far"
St. Maarten: far, but not very far away - a possibility?
LHR: there's Heathrow Pro
CDG: there's SimWings
FRA: German Airports will publish a new version soon
VIE: done as payware
YYZ: too close
Australia: ah, that would have been a possibility (I would have loved that!), but he said "later"
Athens: there is a decent freeware project ("Project Hellas" I think...)
Kansai and other parts of Japan: done by other developer
Otherwise, most of Western Europe is fairly well covered or airports are in preparation (ZRH for example). Which leaves us with:
Eastern Europe: maybe PRG, WAW? BUD is done...
Middle East: Istanbul? Cairo? But then that's too close to DXB. BEY and TLV exist already...
Asia: now here's some real potential: BOM, DEL, BKK, PEK to name just a few. SIN has been published by Samsoft (OK not great quality), HKG is being developed by Cloud9. CGK has reasonably good freeware, and so do ICN, KUL and DPS. But then, for some of them like PEK it may be hard to get pix?
Africa: hmm, not sure, there are some freeware sceneries for JNB and CPT - but maybe he takes a stab at those?
South America: CCS and SCL have decent freeware, and Brazil is well covered. Which leaves EZE as a major airport, unless....
....unless Martin is going for airports which present an interest not by their size (note: up here I just listed big hubs), but by some other characteristic, or merely by the fact that people go there for a challenge. As he stated, Martin is not interested in money as much as in "pleasure". So maybe what he has on his mind is something like La Paz? Quito (terrible payware), Bogota (same)? Something difficult in Central America (Tegucigalpa)?
I think we should concentrate our guesses more around these lines...
Let's see, maybe he'll even release the odd hint...

Default KORD isn't anywhere near FlyTampa quality...nor is it close to being correct.tjsynkral wrote:I'm content using the default KORD. I think it's about 60% of what a FlyTampa scenery can be, and it is actually better than SimFlyers' attempt. But default KLGA has got to go.
While you are perfectly content using the default KORD, I'm perfectly content to use the default KLGA.

In any event, Fly Tampa will develop whatever they want- as it should be...we just get to enjoy the finished product.

I just made a topic suggesting this, and it would be a good add-on for Fly Tampa. I know it's been done by Simflyers but Fly Tampa ould most likely improve so much on their work, as it's originally an FS2002 add-on.Paul Heaney wrote:What about CYYZ?
SimFlyers Did Toronto, but it's a Frame killer, and is not current with the new Terminal 1, and it's well.... Simflyers, not Flytampa quality. Heck I'd send you all the pictures you'd ever need, if FlyTampa would do it!
I don't live very far from CYYZ as well, and there are many simmers who live near CYYZ which could help provide photo material.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaase George or Martin!
Looks like Cloud 9 will be doing BOS now after their good looking EHAM.

Very strange decision.B777ER wrote:Looks like Cloud 9 will be doing BOS now after their good looking EHAM.

Except new DAL terminal, George KBOS looks stunning. Moreover, I cannot say that Cloud 9's EHAM is a masterpiece. I own EHAM (plus a patch) and I must say that the scenery reminds me the best of FS2002 times, not FS2004.
