Strange email from BMT?

Post by n797mx » Wed Nov 04, 2015 12:27 pm

I got emails from BMT Micro stating that I have just ordered products I've owned for years. Anyone else get these or possibly know why I got them?

We are pleased to announce that most of our airports are now Prepar3D V3 compatible and that we also managed to squeeze in some bonus updates and additions.

Please note that these new versions are only available as "Full-Installers" which need to be re-downloaded from the store they were originally purchased at. If you have trouble finding your original order emails or the download links have expired, please email us with your Name and Email used at the time of purchase, as well as the products you ordered. http://www.flytampa.org/contact.html

New customers are receiving the new versions already, if in doubt about a recent order check the Installer Filename, for example FlyTampa_Dubai_Rebooted_FSX_P3D_24.exe means version 2.4.

Hi Folks,

I'm getting the emails from BMT Micro as well - regarding FlyTampa products I purchased years ago ?

Was something hacked ???

Hello, I have just received one too, about a product I purchased months ago. Are we being notified of a product update?

Hi Folks,

Unsolicited emails are always suspect - I wouldn't click on any of the links or use anything off of it until someone from Fly Tampa investigates... Since they have our email addresses and know the products we ordered from FlyTampa - it seems likely something was hacked...

Scott

The email is not fraudulent, it is basically just the exact same email one received when the original order was first placed, along with a reactivated download link.

The emails went out to existing costumers who purchased the Products that got updated because I am unable to handle & manually answer the download requests one by one. I gave up after doing the first 250 or so emails earlier today and just asked they simply be resent to existing costumers.

Whats a bit confusing is that the email looks the same as the original order confirmation/download, so one is right to check that no new order was placed.

I just received an unsolicited e-mail from BMT Micro as well thanks for ordering one of your products. It looks like FlyTampa member account details have been hacked by BMT Micro??. I have the e-mail I received flagged as a possible hack

I don't have any and have not ordered any FlyTampa products recently. The last FlyTampa product I bought, was about four years ago, when I was running FS9.

BMT Micro is our online-store. So when you ordered something from us in the past, you ordered it from BMTmicro. The email you received now/today is the same you got back then. Sorry for not making this more clear.

Guess I should have came here first :) since I got the same emails, probably thought it was just a reminder email since there wasn't a receipt email as well which would have been a giveaway that your account was hacked

So quick question Martin. Will these updates have anything new for FS9 users or we shouldn't even bother downloading if they are just for P3D and FSX?

Don't want to screw up my current install, for the products I run, which btw I love, if there's nothing that applies to FS9, since that is what I'm still running.

Thanks for your sceneries, which are impeccable!!
