P3Dv3
Gents,
While I'm sure I'm not the only one curious, I think the sim community would be duly interested in whether or not FlyTampa plans on supporting the latest version of Prepar3D. We certainly have no reason not to think that--given your support of prior versions--but perhaps call it a perverse curiosity.
Without sounding like a brown-noser, you gents produce some of the best scenery products for the flightsim world and there are undoubtedly many on the leading edge of flightsim that will want your products in their sim environment (although the arguments surrounding--and logic involved in--the use of a defense contractor to produce a sim are questionable), it'd be interesting to know if FlyTampa has or is willing to keep abreast of the latest P3D tech and SDK.
I arguably spoke, er asked, out of turn a couple of months ago when I inquired what you all were working on (don't we all love surprises?) but perhaps this question is more innocuous in the sense that it's more of a support inquiry and not a product development inquiry.
All the best.

Re: P3Dv3
I don't think that new installers are necessary. Choose your P3D rootfolder and install it there. Add it manually to the scenerylib and ready.
Not a big deal I think.

Re: P3Dv3
Addons don't install to the normal paths anymore. This was done to prevent conflicts with patches released by LM. As far as I know, everything installs outside of the root folder from now on.streichholz wrote:I don't think that new installers are necessary. Choose your P3D rootfolder and install it there. Re: P3Dv3
Should be happy to know the official statement of Fly Tampa : Do we need to wait after release of new instalers ? Or can we use the actual one and force the path to the V3 ?

Re: P3Dv3
I haven't been able to get my hands on V3 yet. (Problems with my credit card being declined).
Reports I've heard do sound very promising. More free VAS & better performance.
YSSY looks like it runs fine..

It looks like all add ons have to be installed outside the default P3D folders.jlsaghaa wrote:Should be happy to know the official statement of Fly Tampa : Do we need to wait after release of new instalers ? Or can we use the actual one and force the path to the V3 ?

George, could we please get official new installers please -- including updating your older software with these installers?

George - I'm sending an email to you about this (using the support [at] flytampa address since I can't find a direct one). Let me know what you think.george[flytampa] wrote:I haven't been able to get my hands on V3 yet. (Problems with my credit card being declined).
Re: P3Dv3
Garrett,
For whatever it's worth to you I have the following FT sceneries working in P3D v3 which represent 100% of the FT sceneries I own.
OMDB
TNCM
CYUL
CYYZ
EKCH
LOWW
LGAV
YSSY
CYYZ is a little better for me in v3 than v2.5 in terms of performance however it is still well below most of the addon sceneries I own. Everything else is at least in the mid 30s for me and FAR FARRRRR smoother than v2.5 with 100% custom AI, shadows, HDR, and slider not quite all the way to the right but darn close. I have an older i2600K system. It's the smoothest P3D version that's run on my system to date and i've had almost every version including v1.
Have a look on the ADX site in the P3D v3 released comments if you're interested with whatever else I have working in v3.
Regards,
Sean

Re: P3Dv3
FYI YSSY installs fine but you need to manually add the LC and scenery to P3D 3.0.
Otherwise performance is rocking -- I am very surprised with 3.0!

Re: P3Dv3
I just purchased LOWW, and in P3D V3 seems all the gates/parking/taxiways are misaligned. I don't have any other scenery addons added except for FlyTampa YSSY & OMDB. LOWW is fine for you parkingwise?ywg256 wrote:Garrett,

Yes it's look like ... but first companies that update officialy their installer .... change nothing (like fsdt, flghtbeam, 29 palm, ....) they only modify the path ...OmniAtlas wrote:It looks like all add ons have to be installed outside the default P3D folders.jlsaghaa wrote:Should be happy to know the official statement of Fly Tampa : Do we need to wait after release of new instalers ?
