P3D Performance Issues

Post by smoothchat » Thu Jun 25, 2015 7:50 pm

Hi. Using the same scenery and sim settings in both FSX and P3D (2.4 and 2.5) I get >7fps less in P3d than FSX.

General smoothness after a flight from Melbourne is also much better in FSX. P3D gets very juddery with an uneven framerate.

I am running a 4790K with triple screen (nvidia surround).

With the PMDG 737, at landing time, I get down to as low as 10-13fps in P3D with erratic judder, whereas FSX remains at around 20 and much smoother.

All my other flights seem to be very similar between the 2 sims.

Does anyone have any thoughts why my P3D doesn't like Tampa YSSY?

I have all the Tampa YSSY options turned on, and 25% AI in both sims

Truly excellent scenery BTW.

Maybe a shadows or water setting?

As long as you are using the dedicated aircraft for the designated platform...you should see far better results with P3D. I'm getting 17-20 with P3D and my specs are less superior to yours. Perhaps you've got something else happening there. Are you Orbx-ed on both? Are you using tweaks inside your P3D.cfg?

The same settings in FSX and P3d AREN'T the same settings. High graphics settings in P3d is MUCH higher than what FSX can deliver. You need to adjust them in p3d accordingly.

Using Affinity=84 in both

Optimize_Parts = 1 in P3D

AI Aircraft=20

AI Cars= 30

Pretty much the same for both.

I can understand that P3D settings may actually result in higher load than the same settings in FSX.

How about the actual scenery settings? Autogen, Secenery complexity, etc.
