Black & purple blocks
Found this in "Support".
""There are huge black or purple blocks around the airport.
This can happen when the scenery is not installed correctly or the folder was simply copied from a previous Installation. Re-install the scenery using the original Installer you received after purchasing.""
Have a few questions,
I am getting these blocks
Have these occasionally at other large scenery products but not at all my other FlyTampa airports.
Would using the smaller textures alter this ( is the black vehicle issue as mentioned on the forum due to these textures resolved. Is there info on how to change to these textures.
To re-install what is the best method without losing other Fly Tampa installations like Library, Conf. Manager, other airports etc.
Have Orbx Aust. but this issue seem to be in the area surrounding the airport ( water & land) which makes me think that it is FlyTampa related.

Re: Black & purple blocks
You mean black blocks on the terrain outside the airport perimeter? Are they temporary or permanent?
ALways re-install using the installer.
Post some shots of problem if you can.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Thanks for quick reply.
The issues are temporary and last from a few seconds to over a minute.
When installing I ticked the 4096 Texture options.
Also when the Airport comes up on the FlightSim it takes a couple of minutes to get from black to the normal colours.
As I wrote with other FlightTampa sceneries there are no issues like this.
However I am unable to alter this via the config. panel. When installing, and on the PDF file a message saying that this can be done through this panel but there is no option available for the low res tex.
If I install the low res textures, downloaded from the forum over the higher textures as I want to avoid a reinstall of the airport.
Do I use the Add/Remove program or the un-install file within FSX/FlyTampa.
Hope this info is helpful.
Chr.
EDIT
Installed the Low res textures which seems to reduce a little the time that the blocks disappear, will do a little more testing.
Noticed when flying from the airport this temporary goes black and white then reappears normal.
As far as I know I do not have any other scenery apart from Orbx Aust.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Also installed the Low Res. textures, and unlike my first install did not check the 4096 texture option.
The problem remains with the blocks starting near the perimeter of the airport.
See the attachments.
When I disable the airport in the Scenery Library the problem disappears.
Therefore I think that there is a compatibility issue with the ORBX Australian scenery.
I have flown from and to Sydney many times using this scenery without any issues.
Is the way Sydney have been developed very different that I have issues with this product and none with my other FlyTampa airports.
The airport is fantastic, hope that there is a solution.

Re: Black & purple blocks
This can happen sometimes on system overload, i get this even in clean installs, doesn't necessarily mean incompatibility. does this occur with all add-on aircraft? I got this reduced by updating GPU drivers and clearing FSX shaders.

This looks like your system is close to OOM.
I get a similar when on approach to another companies VHHH. The only one which is annoying.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Rebuild FSX Shaders cache.
There are five maps ( General,Terrain etc) in Shaders with content, do I remove these maps
or all the contents within these maps.
Have a second Shaders for DX10 which I do not use, do I need to rebuild this as well.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Rebuilt the Shaders, Shader10 remained empty unlike Shader after I removed the folders.
Also reduced several settings in the Options, Display,Scenery but the results are the same.
The airport itself is fine but the issue in the immediate surroundings take a while to
disappear before coming up in another place.
It seem something is causing this issue in the the transition from Orbx & the Airport.
See new attachment taken after the rebuild.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Tried disabling the Orbx scenery to see if it makes a difference?
What are your system specs? Do you still hav ethese issues in the default Cessna?

Re: Black & purple blocks
No change after disabling Orbx Australia.
The only other add-on in the area is FSGlobal 2008 which is a mesh product.
As I wrote previously when I disabled the airport the issue disappeared.
No problem with other sceneries who have HD Textures. etc or large like Mexico City, Los Angeles etc.
Have also disabled the LC scenery.
It seems that the issue is in the first few kilometres, the further I fly the scenery is normal.
This is why I think somehow they is a compatibility issue somewhere.
Hope this information helps.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Try completely uninstalling FSX from your system. Load no other products onto it other than FlyTampa Sydney and then load other products one-by-one (uninstalling each one as you go) until you experience your problem. By process of elimination, you should be able to find the culprit. It'll be time consuming, but it might be the only option as a last resort.Christiaan wrote:No change after disabling Orbx Australia.

What are your system specs? Those screens don't look like a bad scenery install.

Re: Black & purple blocks
Let some more advice come through before you do a re-install. That is something you want to try and avoid.
