Vernon, you simply can't get that from a store in my country. The most advanced PC for sale in shops here is an AMD A10-7800 (3.5 gHz), with Radeon R7-240 graphics (2 GB). Even that will cost you $1500 USD.

Something rare from a custom-build shop will cost on average $2600 USD, with i7-4790 (3.6 gHz), nVidia GTX-970 or 980 (4 GB).

My point being, unless you are willing to spend a small fortune and find some rare PC, FSX and P3D with all the addons simply isn't viable.
Sometimes I use FSX for GA flights, and in conjunction with Carenado HD addons and nice Sceneries, I get decent performance. But as soon as I add 100% AI traffic and a PMDG airliner, it's like watching a show of slides (<9 FPS).
Oh and by the way, there's no point in having a 'Smooth' experience if it's less than 20 FPS ;-)

Sounds like you need one of your American friends to build you a computer and ship it to you. I built a computer recently with a 3770k @ 4.7Ghz, 16Gb RAM @ 2200Mhz 9-11-11-31 and an EVGA GTX780Ti for roughly a grand. On another note, I shipped a large (dimension-wise) clothing order (a gift) to a friend in Perth for $60. Probably the same size, granted clothes weigh a bit less...

Which website did you use to acquire components to enable you to build the PC? I'm from the Mid North Coast of NSW.

You could use http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/. It compiles the prices and finds the cheapest parts. I only recommend using it if you know what you're doing.

Robert Randazzo of PMDG even said at the Aerosoft Conference in Germany that he tried to fly the PMDG 747 in FS9 (after developing the NGX and 777) and he just couldn't do it - which is why they're working on a 747 v2 for FSX. It's more than just the graphics, it's what they're able to achieve in FSX that they couldn't do in FS9. Between PMDG, FlightSimLabs, and Majestic - you'll never have that kind of "realism of operation" in FS9. You can build a solid FSX rig these days for under $1500 as well.
Load of tosh.

Look's like IFLY just built a 747-400 for FS9 that will kick any 744 on any platform into touch. :D

The IFLY 747 will not even come close to PMDG stop living in the Dark ages and upgrade to FSX or P3D You cant still expect developers to support a Sim that was replaced 10 years ago

Hi Matt,

We're all suffering withdrawal symptoms awaiting the final release of FT's YSSY.

My sense is, that George is concerting additional effort on getting as much of this product right as possible. Yes, it's causing us potential customers some frustration (and I am one of them).

George probably doesn't even realise, that the screenshots he produced for us in April last year were actually outstanding quality in every way. Even the few screenshots George added later showed exceptional quality.

Maybe George is hard on himself and is a perfectionist not ready to accept anything less than he's own expectations.

So George, if you're bothering to read this at all.....rest assured if any of us seem as though we're "busting your proverbials", it's only because what little we've seen so far has been gobsmackingly beautiful. It's better than you think it is. So just keep going and finish it for us asap - we've all waited many a year on a proper rendition of YSSY and I believe yours will deliver. It's my hometown airport so I have a vested interest in this product - I will admit it!

Just don't forget to tease us with more screenshots until release.....they're better than you think. They maintain our interest in the product.

I've heard some say already the iFly 747 is every bit as good if not better then the PMDG 777. And the service pack is even out yet. iFly's 737 can do everything the PMDG model can....and more. Highly underrated.

Many FSX/P3D users have gone back to fs9 becaue it's simply un-touched for smooth flying free of the crap that engulfs the other platforms. Crap that I don't want.

That's too bad, Sam. Still, I'm not sure a palm leaf hut is the place for an I7 so it's probably all for the best.
