And you have to buy a $100 product to perhaps surpass fs9? Good luck getting smooth fps without OOM's and ctd's everyone is having. Seems to be the norm with fsx/p3d users and with the latest hardware.
Give me the smooth running, less cartoon look from fs9 anyday. 8)

Thank goodness iFly still value fs9 customers with the 747 being released.

I don't get OOMs at all anymore. FS9 looks antique to me even compared to iphone apps. Low res textures especially.

Comon', the PMDG 747 makes the Ifly look like xplane freeware. 2D panels are for granddads.

Upgrade your wallmart PC or be left behind. P3D 64bit is coming & FS9 will be a retro memory.

Why are you being so unfriendly to others?
Are you a teenager (a bit forgivable then) or are you having some bad time?

Being right and being respectful are two different things. I might be on the same page as you as far as FS9,however, it doesn't mean you can crap over people because they enjoy using FS9 still. Let them enjoy their sim, whatever that might be and keep your rude comments to yourself.

Good to see you standing up for yourself.

I've had to contact the moderators about some of the vile crap he posts.

My kids (Flight Sim Addicts) quite often accesses the forums and I don't need them seeing some of these rude, arrogant posts.

I must thank the Fly Tampa team for assisting with editing some of his earlier posts/language and suggest that they keep a close eye on his behaviour.

Forums need to be respected as well as your fellow flight simmers.

I agree with the issues raised by 'Aussie_flyer'.
FS2004 is not dead, neither are it's followers and users. Developers continue support for it, as do the customers paying for the products.

'VORJAB' mentioned something about "ditching the Walmart computers and upgrading", to what?
I challenge you to find me a computer powerful enough to run FSX with all the scenery, aircraft, weather, modules, and 100% AI traffic addons at 40FPS as smoothly as FS2004.
Simple answer is, you wont. The most powerful computer on the market in my country is no more powerful than my current PC, a HP Elite 395a model from 2011. It cost me over $3000 NZD in the day. It is unable to run FSX with 100% AI above 10FPS, and without traffic struggles to achieve 25.

Staff,
You will have a sale in myself and many more customers should YSSY be made for FS2004. I estimate around 30% of your sales will be on the FS2004 version.
Thanks.

Sam, I only use 100% AI and hit 30FPS (locked) at major airports. I use custom AI, have all of FB's stuff, most of FSDT, and some FT and all run smooth c/w REX, FTX Global, etc....I do notice that some Latinvfr and simaddons products are not as good performance wise though. On my set-up anyway....My point is, it can be done.

The performance is for both FSX and P3D v2.4...I now only use P3D.

I used to be in your court too and was too stubborn to make the move...

I have an i7 2600K (I don't even think i have it overclocked at the moment)
8 gigs RAM
GTX 770 4GB card - something to note is as soon as flipped from my HD6970 to this card, my performance increase was about 20-25%. maybe more...this was the game changer for me.

When you have the chance, I would just make the move to p3d when you end up changing your set up...especially with 64bit coming. I am sure you will have plenty of enjoyment out of it and can then let FS9 rest in peace.

My i7 4790k (4.6gz) and GTX 760 don't give me 40fps everywhere in FSX but that's not the point. SMOOTHNESS is the key word, not framerates. And my experience with most sliders maxed out is SMOOTH as a baby's bottom. And they, dear friends, are smooth! So forget framerates. Focus on smoothness of motion and with the right hardware, FSX is still king. You know I'm right.

I'm sorry but I'm not seeing those issues with P3D v2.4...My sim runs smooth. the difference for me started when I upgraded my card to GTX 780 4GB and there is a teak out there I applied to the P3D config file that was a huge game changer for me..changing fiber_frame_time_fraction to 0.01....so my point is, not to take anything away from fsx whatsoever, is with the right set up, p3d can be a pleasure to use also.

Is development on YSSY stalled or on the backburner or something? No updates or promised screenshots in literally ages. Starting to worry, as we desperately need a worthwhile rendition of YSSY on FSX!
