I'm not that young. I had the Sublogic Flight Simulator for the Apple II  I'm also a real pilot.

Lude2Envy,
You say I need to upgrade my hardware? Well, my HP can't really be modified much, due to it's construction.
In my country, the most powerful computer on the market only has a 3.6 GHz processor, 2GB graphics memory, 16GB ram, all pretty standard hardware. And all that at a cost of $2800. My PC was the best on the market at the time in 2012, for $3000 I'm not going to throw that money away so soon, when FSX is the ONLY game which will not operate at full capacity on my machine.

As for this NGX vs. iFly, I think you'll find that the iFly is fantastic with FS2004.
Also, I've got both on my FSX sim, and the NGX just about causes my game to shutdown, it demands too many resources. The iFly still functions superbly, with a fraction of the hardware demand.
An iFly 747 is just what we need :)

I'm sorry to hear that upgrading and hardware costs are such a constraint for you in your country. I am, however, in no way implying that you need to go buy a new computer. I was simply making a statement about the best addons currently available and what it takes to run it with good results. I myself wasn't able to enjoy FSX, the NGX, etc.. until 2-3 years ago when the Intel CPUs fell into my budget. It's a longshot but does your motherboard in your HP allow for overclocking? You may just need a decent CPU cooler to overclock to speeds that'll make FSX run nicely. There is a huge difference in FSX between running my i5 at stock speeds vs. the 4.5GHz I have it at now.

Lude2Envy,
Overclocking on HP, no. The BIOS have never allowed clock speeds to be adjusted at all. I have a huge stock cooler on the CPU, which is great, but not really being utilised at factory clock speeds. It only gets up to 3.4 GHz on boost, which is a real bottleneck. I also run ATi Radeon GPU, which isn't said to be best suited for FSX, but handles FS2004 fine.
I just don't see why developers need to shut everybody with less-powerful machines running FS2004 completely out of the addon market, when the customer base still exists firmly. I'm not too bothered by developers choosing to only produce addons for one platform, whether it be FSX, as I understand it's an easy conversion to Prepare3D. But what does annoy me, is when FSX users start telling us FS2004 guys to 'move on' and 'let go'. That's their opinion, and they're in a situation to say that. Just keep an open mind, so that way developers don't hear negativity about producing for more platforms than just FSX.

I understand what you're saying, but if the market for FS9 was "firm", all developers would continue to push products for it. For a developer to make a product compatible with both FS9 and FSX, something has to be sacrificed - usually quality, features, etc.... Because the market is set on FSX/P3D, developers are shifting their efforts to make quality products for FSX. Now, you still have developers like Qualitywings who support both sims. They are able to do this because they produce "lite" products that aren't restricted to the constraints of FS9. I will admit, I'm thoroughly impressed with FlyTampa and their ability to continue to produce such quality sceneries for both sims. I love FSDT as well, but some of their sceneries, like Vancouver which is an FSX exclusive, still hit my FPS substantially. I don't understand how Martin can make the entire city of Dubai come to life and run so smoothly while one FSDT airport hits my FPS the way it does. I'm not telling you to "let go" either. I still use FS9 occasionally to fly my DF 727 and many of my GA aircraft.

Hi guys,
Hasn't been any activity here in a while, just wondering when I can see Copenhagen on SimMarket?
Rumours were, it was being released a few weeks ago.
Cheers.

You'll be waiting a long time. FS9 is dead.

Fs9 isn't dead. In fact many are returning to the best platform for flight simming. FSX is a joke and p3d is fast becoming one as well, going by the ongoing problems simmers are having.

Along with the new Evo world textures we have available, fs9 ha never looked better. In fact, it looks so much better then my FSX that its not funny. Well, it is funny for those persisting with the cartoon look of fsx and p3d. If it even works. :D

Give me the organic, real look of fs9 anyday. Ad ctd and oom free.. 8)
