Correct Take Off landing Runway

Post by OMDB » Wed Feb 26, 2014 5:57 am

Hi

I know there are a few AFCAD out there for OMDB reebooted, bit I cannot even with ADE editor for FSX make the departure from DXB 30R and LDG 30L in westerly winds and for easterly winds takeoff 12R and LDG 12L.

Appreciate any help please

Thanks

I have configured mine with afcad with that config on my ADE. It works for me.

How do you do it, when I go into the editor and click on the runway concerned, I click on Takeoff only on 30R and Landing only 12L and the opposite for 30L/12R.

Then when I save it, despite westerly winds all AI takeoff from 12R only.

Thanks

I believe both ends of each runway must have the same configuration, that is, landing only, takeoff only, or both. At most airports, the runway closest the terminals is normally used for takeoffs and the other runway is used for landings. So at OMDB, I mark 12R/30L for takeoffs only and 12L/30R for landings only. Try it and see how that works for your purposes.

Thanks Jerry,

But I am looking for a way to actually make all takeoff from 30R and Landings all 30L, with east winds, then 12R for Departure and arrival on 12L only.

Many thanks

You could try using two separate AFCADs, one for each configuration, and then switch them according to the prevailing winds reported at the time.

J Post,

Thanks, done exactly what you suggested and it's great now, thanks again for the idea and sorry for late response only just back into FSX after a month of no PC

OMDB:

You're welcome. If you have some spare time and interest, you could even create an automated AFCAD switcher using a simple .bat file. I haven't done one myself, but if you have Shez' freeware KPHL, there's one included there you could possibly use as a template.
