Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
Hi,
I just noticed that on many of the major roads around the photoreal area covered by Flytampa Montreal, the traffic is excluded on the vector roads.
I noticed this by simply disabling the scenery and got all traffic back on these roads.
Any idea please?
Thanks
Michel

AES lite handles the vehicle traffic but I did create standard FSX traffic founf here...

Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
I already have this patch thanks, in fact the issue is not on the area covered by the scenery (i.e photoreal montreal) but where the FSX vector roads display...
These screen captures are taken for Hwy 15 and 20 where the FSX road vectors are displayed. Notice that no traffic on those. The cars stop where the scenery photoreal stops
Other roads all around that have usually traffic when the scenery is disabled, loose their traffic too with the scenery enabled
I am wondering if there is an exclusion area that create a square perimeter with no traffic around the scenery area?
By disabling the scenery, all these highways & roads get cars back on them
Thanks!

Try the attached file, it removes the traffic exclude but will probably cause problems with the traffic over the photo scenery not lining up.

Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
Thanks I will try it, but is it normal the file is just 1K?
Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
The file displayed very slim traffic over the photoreal montreal and still an exclusion of surrounding vector highways but I found a simpler solution, by simply not using any of the cvx files, I let the underlaying roads display their traffic and thus I got all highways and roads busy again including over the photoreal
So never mind, I will simply not use the CVX and it works great for me here
I presume your file is optional for those who do not have a detailed network of roads in one area around the add-on airport, otherwise people can simply rename it or move it elsewhere and their underneath vector roads will display their traffic over the photoreal city
I also got your Dubai recently and had almost no traffic on roads so I will see if a CVX exists there too and by disabling it I can use my underlying networks of roads / traffic
Cheers!

That file is actually vital. It also contains the airport flat layers.
Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
Oops
So is there a way to have a flatten without the exclusion or traffic? The last one you sent me was 1 K, it kept the surrounding vector roads exclusion as well as veeery few cars on montreal photoreal

Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
I've been trying to find a safe solution. No luck yet.
It does seem fine here without the CVX file. I expected to see lots of ground clipping. Stick to running without it for a while if it's working for you.

Sure, I will and will see if it is ok over the airport without it.
Thanks

Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
One more file to try attached. It contains my traffic paths for the photoscenery & has the traffic excludes removed.
I don't have the roads in your shots so I can't really test it. Even with the stock scenery, most my roads around the city & cathedral are empty.

Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
Thanks for the new file, will give it a try but I think there is probably an idea that I am experimenting with and so far got good results for your CYUL and Dubai as well.
I create a scenery folder called Exclusions and in its scenery sub folder I placed the CVX 1k of CYUL you sent me before and also Dubai CVXs... Now I added the Exclusions scenery just above the last 00XY of the stock regional airports entries of FSX.
Now Montreal is full of cars all around (same as if CVX is disabled) but I presume that the exclusion works for all what is below (default stock airports etc.)
Same for Dubai, now all roads have cars
I can put this file there too to try

Re: Traffic exluded around Flytampa Montreal photoreal?
Forgot to mention that by doing what I described above, I let the custom vector packages on higher layers to take care of excluding the default ones and then the custom airports like CYUL come as photoreal layouts and use the traffic of the vectors (so no exclusions of these custom vector roads but exclusion happen at lower layers)
