Textures in and out.

Hey,
Bought KMDW and I have been having a very good time with it. First add-on that I got and installed on my new sytem and just couldn't believe I was seeing 40-50 fps with full detail and 4x/8x on my video card flying around in the default Bell. When I saw the cars driving around the airport it just tickled me to death. Still having a hard time accessing my old hard drives to grab the other Fly Tampa stuff I own.

One problem that I have is that I get "white out" texture loss when approaching for a landing. I think this happened with the other Fly Tampa airports but can't remember. Currently I am using an ATI X800 XL. It only happens for a second. My thought is that it is a LOD change that causes it. It happens so quick that I can't get a screen shot of it. Anyone else have this happen? Just curious

Hey midibyte,

Yes, this happens to me as well, and has always happened with Fly Tampa sceneries. I guessed that it was rendering the scenery since from a certain distance the detail is weaker than from a closer distance. I just figured that this happens to everyone. Like you said, it only lasts for a maximum of 2 seconds and then the airport comes back with more detail that present before(at least on my computer).

This is common on GMAX objects.
You'll see this often on GMAX Planes or even AI planes. Not much we can do about it, as the texture loading is controled deep within the MS Graphics engine.

Thats pretty much what I figured. Isn't the default scenery GMAX? I don't have this happen with default scenery or AI planes. Just looked at it again and what I see specifically popping in and out are mostly the runways. Minor issue, it's there when I land.

Thanks for the speedy replies. Looking forward to KSEA since that has remained my default airport. I am utterly amazed at the quality of Fly Tampa products.
