Copenhagen EKCH (Old Preview Thread)

Post by emilios[flytampa] » Sat Jun 22, 2013 8:28 am

Hi guys,

This must seem odd, not seeing George or Martin opening a new airport topic :-P

It might be my first post here, but I am really glad to share a couple of (very) early screenshots for a new FlyTampa airport.

It has been a project in a 'waiting list' for some time now, but is now back on track; no accurate information on release yet, but I will keep you updated as we are getting closer.
(developed by FSDG with the help of our good friends, 29Palms)

Absolutely stunning! Will you guys also include AESlite for the vehicles (Just like CYUL, OMDB and LGAV)?

So, can you confirm, that this project, is the same as the FSDG one? And it is delayed, until Q2 in 2014, just like FSDG..?

The question is, what is FlyTampas level of engagement in this project. Is George and Martin involved development wise, or is it just the name which is being used? (A direct question for Emil ) :D

It is an expensive service for big airports, but we will be considering it, especially if the final 'quote' is good enough :)
We also have our own animation workflow so there will be life in&around the airport

What portions exactly are FlyTampa doing in this project, and what portions exactly are FSDG doing in this project?

We will all share resources, techniques & help troubleshoot problems if needed. Myself & Martin develop separately, so this is no different.

If you look at the past airports created by these guys, they are clearly capable of delivering a high quality airport scenery.

With respect George, FSDG might provide eye candy but at the expense of frames, to wit Djerba (default Cessna 7 fps FS9 after update) and Sharm el-Sheikh (not purchased because of similar bad performance reviews.) This performance contradicts what Fly Tampa's hard-won reputation has been built on ... attention-to-detail whilst preserving FPS.

Now 29Palms is a different kettle-of-fish entirely however I don't believe they have developed for FS9.

Strange bedfellows indeed and I, along with many others I suspect, await with anticipation to see just what this bastard child will develop into.

I guess this is not the place to discuss FSDG sceneries, but I have top notch performance in FSDG FS9 Djerba. My FPS is locked at 30, and it NEVER drops below 30 at Djerba. Same at Sharm el-Sheikh. This is with all sliders at max. My specs are rather low: Pentium G 3.1 Ghz, 4 GB ram, Nvidia GTS 250 (512 Mb). Nothing overclocked.

While Sydney is confirmed for FS9 at this stage EKCH has not, Im hoping not but this project may not be made for FS9....
