Hello all Fly Simmers!
I know Flytampa does not take requests for airports but as far as I know..there is no good payware (or freeware) scenery for Australian Airports in FS9. Basically there are some freeware of these airport (as Subject) but those are quite crap. Hopefully there is someone who could do the Melbourne Tulllamarine YMML or Sydney YSSY for FS9. Agree for FS9 users?
Thank you.

I find it ridiculous that there has never, ever been a decent rendition of Sydney other than the (I have to be honest) poor attempt by CLS, we've been stuck with the default scenery since the 29th July 2003, and it's one of the better known airports in the world. I mean, there seriously has to be some sort of reason for it? (And really... the default scenery is somewhat average, even though people say it's sufficient)
BTW: Orbx have a really good YMML scenery.

Sure but, firstly, they are FSX only and, secondly, even they (Orbx) are not taking the challenge of recreating YSSY. This airport seems to be cursed in MFS. Not really being a scenery developer myself, I am wondering why it is so.

Perceived lack of demand, pure and simple ... particularly where FS9 is concerned.
ORBX has had to go to overseas subject matter in order to make a profit. The freeware YSSY by Flukey and the VOZ team is the best available rendition. Be sure you get the update on Avsim.

I'd have to agree with that. I only see a request for that airport once in a while. Even though I own the ORBX AU package I rarely fly there and even if there was a payware YSSY, I wouldn't even buy it since I would never use it. I do the majority of my flying in either North America or Europe, so it would be a waste of money for me.

I doubt YSSY would pull enough sales and theres obviously a High quality version of YMML already out there. You have to choose your battles carefully in this game. 2 years development on the wrong airport wasted for low sales/returns can hurt a developer.

while there are limited options for fs9 users, there are some reasonable freeware options that can fill the gap and that you can still get your paws on:
1. get Vista Oz (the forerunner to what became ORBX for newer sims) - it's free and the installer is available here
http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/fil ... loads-fs9/ along with a bunch of related enhancements
2. search for robert fluke on the avsim library - flukey did a bunch of updates, tweaks and fiddles for airports compatible with vista oz, including oz majors SYD, BNE and ADL (not MEL unfortunately) and a bunch of regionals
hth.
