AI Trouble at Midway
Today I decided to fly out of Midway, when all of the sudden this AI aircraft comes sneaking behind and under me as I'm waiting short for ATC to give me permission to enter the runway. Any idea from FlyTampa's team on why this happen? I've also posted a similar thread on Ultimate Traffic 2's forum, to see if perhaps it can be something to do with their software, but I figure it would be a good idea to post it here to. By the way, This is the FSX version.

One cause of that is failing to file and use a proper flight plan. If you just push back and taxi without obtaining the proper clearences, the FS engine acts like you aren't there.

That's not the problem then, because this happened to be an IFR flight plan, and I never move out of the gate without some sort of flight plan or clearance.Bruce Hamilton wrote:One cause of that is failing to file and use a proper flight plan. I also spoke to the people at Flight1 Ultimate Traffic 2, and they seem to think that it has something to do with the airports AFCAD file, or what ever you call it in FSX. They don't believe their traffic software has anything to do with this problem. Hopefully it will be a simple fix.
I do have to say that AI traffic acts funny on some payware sceneries. For instance, here you see traffic running over me, in this case under me.
However, FSDreamTeam airports like JFK traffic tends to keep two aircraft lenght behind me no matter if I'm using Captain Sim's 757, Level-D's 767, or PMDG's 747. They all end up with the same problem, and I'm trying to find an answer from FSDreamTeam on that one. However, from Midway I've only flown the Aerosoft Airbus X, Eaglesoft Citation X, and this Captain Sim 757. Never noticed this problem with the Airbus or the Citation before, as I didn't have traffic approach me from behind, but here it is with the 757, go figure

This type of problem has to do with the Airport's "Afcad" file, but I'm not aware of an error in KMDW's. Usually this happens if there is no hold-node at a runway exit. Sometimes it also happens when FS is overwhelmed with lots of AI traffic especially when running in Time X4 mode. I'm not sure about this, but I see these oddities too sometimes.

I don't have the time today, but in the next few days I'm going to try using different aircraft, and time schedules to see if it continues, or if this was just a one time deal.
