FS9 ILS Frequencies

Hi Martin. Love your KTPA which is now installed and working almost perfectly in FS2004. A great product and I use it as my home base. Unfortunately, there's a problem with the alternate frequencies for the ILS. In short, they don't work for me.

I notice the newest release of Swordy's AFCAD-2 still won't let you save navaid changes but Lee thinks he can engage that function. You, as a developer, might be priveleged to have an early copy?

I sometimes fly with FSNavigator, and it will not allow changing an ILS approach frequency for a runway, so I land in the grass. Not good when you're "showing off" the realism for visitors.

When I use the default GPS or create an IFR plan, I can't seem to get the alternate ILS "captured" even though I both dial in the alternate and come in from well above. I also don't hear the ID when tuned to the alternate ILS even with the appropriate NAV Radio tuned and its audio active. Bummer.

I hope the KTPA ILS frequencies revert back to their true accurate, and default ones soon. And if Miami has the same issue, I'll wait because I don't fly these airports of yours in a Cessna 152, thanks.

Yeah, the ILS still isn't fixable. I hate to depend solely on Lee for this, but there is no way to "easily" decompile those AFD files and actually figuring out what all the data means... unless they're gonna make it public in the SDK.

Anyway, have you tried the simple method of setting the alternate Nav freq in the radio panel? FSNavigator is probably gathering the frequencies from the AFD files in FS2004 and therefore can't find the alternate ones because they aren't there (yet). Same thing with the Map view, it shows data from the AFD only, while the alternate freq are "hard coded" into the scenery the old fashioned way.

And Martin, if I don't get the ILS working until Lee gets around to it, no worries. What you have done with KTPA is nothing less than awesome, with or without the ILS. I live in Tampa and what you've done is the best of the best.

Yes, I've dialed the altered ILS frequencies into Nav1 but no joy so far.

But it's really no big deal for me because knowing you track this forum is much more important.

Florida is my favorite place and I plan to buy your Miami also.

Maybe this is a good time to train some good old-fashioned landings, hehe. I guess that is what most people are doing nowadays with many scenery addons yet to be fixed 100%.

Btw: Those alternate freq only work if you're starting a new flight, when you load older saved flights they don't (flights saved while not having the latest patch). Just in case...
