People Who're using Thomas Kwong's VHHH2005b with FT Kai Tak
Hey guys!,how're you today,I just created this thread to ask a question directed at the people who're using Thomas Kwong's Chek Lap Kok with FlyTampa Kai Tak with no problems.
When installing Thomas Kwong's VHHH,inside the zip file there is a Cities/Hong Kong/Texture folder.
Now in Thomas Kwong's readme, it says to replace the default Cities/Hong Kong/Texture folder with Thomas's new one,I'm just wondering should you still proceed with doing that or just leave the Cities/Hong Kong/Texture default?
Also should you still apply the flatten to the scenery as Thomas says.
Thanks guys, those were the only 2 things I wasn't sure of,as I don't want to mess my Kai Tak up.

I've had that scenery installed for a long time now. I installed it following the developer's readme file. The only changes I've ever made to it was adding AES and following the instructions of the sticky post here about compatibility (link below).

I think it's safe to assume that if you install it following the instructions and then make the adjustments suggested in the compatibility post you should be good to go like the rest of us.

I know how to install it without no problem, all I wanted to know was did you replace the default Cities/Hong Kong/Texture folder with Thomas Kwong's Cities/Hong Kong/Texture included in vhhh2005b?
That's really all I wanted to know, apart from should Thomas's VHHH be above or below FlyTampa Kai Tak and FlyTampa Kai Tak LC.
Cheers Dre

To be honest, I don't remember if I replaced those default texture folders. What i do know is that I followed the instructions to the letter. So if the instructions said to replace those files then I did. If the file replacement wasn't in the instructions then I definately didn't mess with it.Dom-Ination wrote:I know how to install it without no problem, all I wanted to know was did you replace the default Cities/Hong Kong/Texture folder with Thomas Kwong's Cities/Hong Kong/Texture included in vhhh2005b?

Either way I have them both working with the FT scenery being higher on the list than VHHH of course. Hope you get your issue sorted so you can enjoy the scenery like the rest of us.

comatibility issues also
I have this VHHH addon also. I was using it with Justflights HK2004. It doubled the TM bridge and added a bunch of buildings that were in the water.
Now I have FT HK and the problem is sill there. It seems to me that FT has nothing to do with this problem. I think that I may have placed textures and bgl's from the VHHH scenery where they should not be. Unless someone can help me with fixing it, It looks as if I will have to re-install FS.

There's no need to reinstall your FS, just look in the sticky section of this same VHHX forum and you'll find your fix.elkinallen wrote:I have this VHHH addon also. I was using it with Justflights HK2004. It doubled the TM bridge and added a bunch of buildings that were in the water.

Thanks
Ok. Thank you. I am going to look into it. So far I found and deleted the VHHH2005b files that duplicated the bridge etc, deleted them and all is well.

That did the trick!!! Thank you very much!!! I was ready to re-install all! One thing I did do by mistake was to place all the install files in all the scenery files in the entire FS9 directory. BUT Since I knew what the file names were, I was able to find them and delete them.
Thanks again to you.
If you need anything let me know. I am an ace with AC cfg contact points. So, If you want more realism with bogey tilt, touch down and a more stable ac on the runway/ramp. let me know.
