Static Aircraft

Post by Thomson » Sat Jul 05, 2008 6:59 am

I love the option to have the beautiful static aircraft installed and I don't plan on fiddling around with AI, however, there are a lot of them and they do have some impact on performance. Would there be any way to provide an alternative BGL with perhaps 50% or less of the static aircraft? I don't want to lose anything from the rest of the scenery by turning the scenery complexity slider down, and if there was just a handful of statics, that would be great to populate the airport a little. (FS9 version)

I should add, this scenery is the most incredible I have ever seen, if you guys can pull off a city scape like that, I hope that maybe one day you consider doing some cities to go with your other airports. Imagine San Diego city in that kind of detail... :P

Again, I can only guess at the amount of hard work that has gone into KT, so I say, thank you very very very much, you guys are the best.

Static planes are clustered by areas. You could try removing some.

The files are:

kt_aerostat_apron_terminal.bgl
kt_aerostat_apron_center.bgl
kt_aerostat_cargo.bgl
kt_aerostat_apron_south.bgl

Once removed, you'll notice a soft shadow left where the plane was. To get rid of these shadows delete:

_kt_grd_aerostatic_shadows.bgl

If there is more demand for a reduced static aircraft layout I can look into that later on. Shouldn't be too hard.

Thank you Martin, that looks like a great solution at least for me.

I have fsx and I want to install static aircraft. I also think there are too many. I would like it populated but half because I have MTX. How would I remove some of the aircraft and have an afcad file for it so the spaces are used by the ai aircraft.

Once Martin answers what files are adding the Static Aircraft and which files might be deleted you will need the ADE Utility.

ADE is the Airport Design Editor Utility that will allow you to add back parking spots where the Static Aircraft sit now.

I CAUTION everyone not to use any other Utility but ADE if they want to do work on their FSX AFCAD.
